lovely dresses ladies! almost makes me want to go out and try on dresses again....maybe.......

i'm going in for my 3rd and final fitting on Friday and I think i love my Paigely even more than I did when I first tried it on! I didn't need anything taken in but definately needed a hem.

LOL, maybe i love it more now because the length is (almost) perfect.

Hi everyone!

Getting married on June 28th in Mexico. I found my dress last fall in October and placed the order.. it came in quite fast (mid-February)! It's a Maggie called Cassandra. I am supposed to go in for my first official fitting in three weeks and I'm really nervous and scared because I ordered a size 12 when I probably should have ordered a size 14 (I'm sort of between the two). I would like to lose 10 pounds before the end of June and didn't want to end up paying an arm and a leg for alterations so I went with the smaller size. Now the pressue is ON!

I only have a really blurry picture from a cell phone so I'll wait until the beginning of May when I go in for my fitting to post a pic. Anyone else try on a Cassandra or order one??

Just curious.. around how much did everyone pay their Maggies? I ended up getting mine for 1550$ tax inc. I'm in Montreal, Canada so just wondering what the difference in price is between here and the US.

I was a Maggie Bride 7 years ago, can't remember the name...pitiful. But I tried mine on in a salon and ordered it online with RK Bridal. Saved me about $1000. Came just as promised no problems, needed minimal alterations. Not sure how they are now, but was worth it to me then. Gotta go look at my paperwork for the name. It is such a classic dress would be still exquisite today.

I know what you mean, I got my dress a size smaller too, because that was the only one they had (I bought a sample). The good thing about the Maggies is that the corset backs are pretty forgiving...you can usually get away with a size smaller or bigger depending on the style. I'm sure you'll look great in your dress...good luck!

I ended up buying a Maggie too! It was discontinued in 2010 and I couldn't find it anywhere. I finally found a sample out in California (I'm in CT!) and bought it without ever seeing it (except for the pics the store sent me) or trying it on...crazy, I know, lol, but I had tried on a similar style (an Allure dress) and knew I loved the shape/style. I just loved this one a little more. Heck, I figured if I didn't like it, I could always sell it...but it turns out I love it!! Here it is:

It fits perfect, the only alterations I'll need is to get it hemmed-its super long on me right now! I don't have any pics of it on, when I take some, I'll be sure to post. The color is diamond white & pewter, and although the bodice looks very pewter-ish in the pic, it's not at all in real life. Also not very "beachy" haha, but I don't care!

The billy is a FABULOUS dress!! If you go with it, it's a GREAT choice!! I was torn between  Billy and Caprice, but went with Caprice because it was more of a beach wedding dress. It's pretty much the same dress, except for the material and the sweetheart neckline on Billy. I would have def gone with Billy if I was having a local wedding due to the material of the dress. I'm thinking about altering the neckline on my Caprice to sweetheart .

I did the same thing. For me the bigger size was going to be more money and there was no way that I was going to pay more for a bigger size. My measurements were just off on the waist. I need to lose about 3 inches off the waist. So far I have lost half that.  My wedding is in July so I still have some time and my first fitting is June 5. My dress Catarina is still not in yet, but everytime the phone rings I panic lol. My maid of honour's dress came in and it does not fit at all.  When we went to zip it up it was to tight around the chest. I think they measured wrong. She has gained some weight but it was at least a 4 inch gap. (this is my worse fear for my dress). They can let it out thank god. I was thinking we might have to call in Tommy Europe! :)

I bought my dress in Port Perry, (just outside of Oshawa On)  They were having an amazing sale 25% off if you ordered before the end of the year (2010) but this store is famous for always offering 25%.  I paid 1717.00 for my dress. with the discount. I was please with that.

I am now looking for shapewear with a low cut back I think I am going to need some help sucking everything in lol. I did see something online at Victoria Secrets . Hoping they have it in the store so I can try it on.  Anyone know of another store that would have  low back shapewear?????

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
