DRESS HELP!!!  I bought a Maggie dress, the Geneva, I absolutely LOVE the dress....BUT here's the problem.  I bought it when we were planning a wedding in Savannah GA, ceremony in front of a fountain in Forsyth Park, reception in a warehouse-style old railroad museum.  Well...everything started getting soo expensive and stressful we just scratched the entire thing are getting married on the beach in Mexico where we are going to honeymoon, and just throw a big party when we get home.  It will just be my fiance and I and I soo worried now that my dress is too formal for the beach.  I keep going back and forth on whether I should keep it and wear it on the beach or go with something a little more beachy/flowy...I would LOVE some input!!!   geneva 2.JPGgeneva 1.JPG

I'm getting married December 6th, and have yet to try on dresses, but long before being engaged I fell in love with Maggie Sottero! I LOVE her use of draping- almost everything she makes is amazing!!! What blows my mind is that the designer I fell in love with is actually sold where I live in North Dakota. That's beyond luck! I'll be scheduling an appointment soon to go try on dresses next month. Can't wait!!!! :)

My dress was "Denise" from the Maggie Sottero 2010 Spring Collection.  I chose the light gold colour after my best friend convinced me it would look good with my skin tone and the beach, and I couldn't be happier with it!  The colour looks amazing in photos and I got so many compliments about how unique it looked.  The details and beading was incredible and the dress was really comfortable too.  Wish I could wear it again!! :)

CanadianLindsey: Wow! Your dress is stunning! You look like a model!  Congratulations! What beautiful pictures.  I would love to see more pictures, if possible. I'm glad to see the light gold color, it does look really amazing.

Two days ago I finally picked a dress.  It's really hard to decide, they are all so gorgeous! I chose the Maggie Sottero "Poppy" in light gold.  Below is a pic of me trying it on.  The sample didn't fit, so it was quite tight! But I still loved it.  I'm hoping the lace style will be lighter for an outside wedding.  I'm getting married at Gran Bahia Principe Tulum on June 11, 2011.  I had to pay a $150 rush charge and they said the dress will come in late May or beginning of June.  That sounds a little stressful, so I hope it comes in early or at least on time!

Your dress looks very light and airy! Great colour choice! ;)   If you don't need major alterations then you should be fine for time. Good luck with the rest of your planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
