Not a Maggie Sottero bride but I would be if my fiance had his pick. He went dress shopping with me (our first weddings didn't work out so why not? lol) and like the Adelaide one the most. That was before we decided on this destination wedding. I loved that dress but found one I like even more that I bought for a quarter of the price. He STILL talks about how nice the Maggie was though. Definately a full line of beautiful dresses there.

This weighed heavily on me as well. I was convinced that I would get a simple chiffon dress (no one around me carried any chiffon maggies though :-( . I took FI to a boutique to look at dresses and he only picked heavy satin Maggie dresses. He envisioned a more traditional dress, so I thought well, I love the dress too, might as well give him what he pictures me in anyway ;-). I agree Maggie makes gorgeous dresses

My Sottero & Midgley gown was ginormous and heavy (and of course our wedding day was the hottest, most humid day of our entire stay) but I totally AGREE with your MOH!

You will be so excited, you'll just deal with the heat and when you look at your pics later, you'll forget how hot you might have been at the time, and be so glad you went with your dream dress in the end!

I have to agree with Islandbride! I wore Maggie Sottero's Rasharna at my wedding in April in Mexico and while it was a bit warm (:)) I didn't even really notice the heat.

Get your dream dress, you won't regret it!!

When I went in and said that we were having a destination wedding...they automatically wanted to take me to "that" section of the shop; I was like "heck no" I want that - as you said it Michelle - princess look and feel! To each their own, but I want that little girl "dream dress!"

- Michelle - Absolutely gorgeous dress! Definitely princess worthy!

- Lisa - Beautiful! And I LOVE the back of your dress! That will look amazing! We brides with these big dresses will reinvent what it means to be tough!! lol!

- Rosie - I ordered mine in January, and it came in in June...so it seems to me they are pretty true to the timeline...I am sure it will definitely be worth the wait!
I had the same, they just assume you want a straighter, plainer dress - all the destination dresses weren't princess enough for me, ha ha..

I will just get my BM's to fan me down. I mean that's what they are there for right? hee hee

Oh WOW, adelaide!!! YOU were quite the stunning bride yourself in your fabulous Rasharna gown! Thank you so much for your compliment, and double-back at 'cha! We both suffered though the heat for the sake of our gowns....and so glad we did, too!

(Rasharna, by the way, is such a fabulous gown, with it's modern sort-of "polka dot" print, yet it's still super classic in it's overall design, particularly with the use of tulle for the skirt -- you looked so gorgeous!)

And I don't think I ever got a chance to mention it directly to you, but CONGRATULATIONS to you and your husband on your wedding! wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
