All Maggie Sottero brides post here

Recommended Posts

I've loved Maggie ever since I first saw one of her dresses and I seem to keep coming back to her when I look for my dress. So far I'm leaning towards the Aspen since I wanted some black detail in my dress. Just want to know how many other brides out there choose Maggie for their dress and if you were happy with your selection. Also did everyone buy their dress from a gallery or online? What was your experience with each? Was there a huge price difference as well?

Thanks for any and all input. I still have a ways to go before I commit to a dress but I like to be as informed as I can be.

I will be a Maggie bride and I am THRILLED!! I ended up buying my dress at a store locally, I just got nervous at the thought of ordering my dress online. Not quite sure why. The local store had a fantastic price so I wouldn't have had much savings after shipping anyways. My dress hasn't come in yet but I'll let you know how I feel once it arrives.

Good luck :)

I had a Maggie as well (martina). It looked great the wedding day and held up pretty good in jamaica (i didn't need it steamed).

I bought mine from Sophie's in London. Price was around 1000 for my dress I think and 200 in alterations.

Go for it!! You want the dress of your dreams ..it makes your wedding day all that much better!

Thanks girls. Your dresses are stunning. Maggie sure does a good job. There is only one shop here that carries her and luckily it was the same bridal shop that my step-mom used to work for. So she's going to talk to her old boss and see if she can get me a discount. I just wasn't sure if I'd still be getting a deal or if going online would be better.

Hi there....I am also going to be wearing a maggie gown (well a Sottero Midgley to be exact)....anyway, I love ALL of her gowns! I saw a photo of one online last summer and I called every single shop/boutique in the entire Dallas, TX and Oklahoma City area and not one of them had that gown. They said it was from the new line and they wouldn't be able to get a sample until October or Novermber. I was so worried, especially since it takes so long to get them once it's ordered....anyway, after days of deliberating on what I should do (I am very picky on how things look on me and especially my wedding gown!) I finally decided to order it and hope for the best!

A local boutique ordered it for me in August and said I would have it by the 1st week of December. I finally received it the 3rd week of January! I have to say, it was definitely worth the wait.....I loved it as soon as I saw it and it fit perfectly (except the length....I ordered a petite and still had to have 3 inches cut off!).....I should be getting a pic of me in it from my 1st fitting and I will post as soon as I do. Here is the link to see what it looks like:

I was a Maggie bride, and absolutely loved my dress (the Colby). It fit like a glove and didn't need any alterations whatsoever (yay for corset backs!). The fabric was light and flowy, perfect for the beach, and I wasn't tripping over it (I have a tendency to be clumsy).

I had the best experience buying it too. The store was empty when I arrived, the saleslady (Brooke at Bridal Creations in Kinston, absolutely wonderful lady!) was very helpful, and when I stepped out of the changing room it was just the most amazing feeling...I still get goosebumps thinking about it!

I just wish I could wear it again

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
