I just placed my order with Babyonline.  I am getting the replica Maggie Reese Dress.  I am super nervous, anxious, excited.  They say it should be ready in 20 days.  That is really quick!  I hope it works out.  I am using this dress for my TTD, so I am not super worried, but I would like to avoid having to pay additional costs for alterations etc.

It does seem that a lot of ladies have found the dress comes back too big (and not just one seller).  I wonder if they add a few inches on purpose thinking we exaggerate and make ourselves thinner, since it is easier to take a dress in than take it out.  Hmmmmm...

I will keep you ladies updated and post pictures once they come in.  It's the least I can do for the hours I have spent stalking this forum and thread.

When I msged them, I asked if they had done this dress before, and whether they had any pictures they could send me.  Although they havent done this exact, dress they did do one like it.

Here is the inspiration pick for comparison sake.

daizyduke, mine came a bit big but that was intentional. I added an inch to all my width measurements because the website stated that with custom design, the exact measurement sent could vary by up to an inch either way in the final product. I would much rather it be up to too inches too big than an inch too small!

So I can't believe it but they managed to get the dress to me today!  Just like they said I received it before Oct 20!  The dress is very heavy but it is so well made!  It looks almost identical to the picture.  I will take pics when I can.  It is a little tight around my thighs but I need to lose a few anyway.  The measurements are absolutely perfect and I could not have asked for any better.  They are pricing the dress at $200 and change now but It anyone wants ruffles or rosettes, totally, totally! recomend them!  I finally got a good dress!

Rowe,

most of the brides...are in denial...so safer to be on the bigger side! I actually send them pics of me in plain bikini..to show them that I am really a 00p (yes, I used to be just a 0, but since fashion designers tried to make denial/delusional fat women to feel better, and deflated the size chart...I became a 00p..soon I may start to shop in Gap kid), so they won't make it too big for me.  Apparently I am very skinny even in China's standard.

MissKim,

Good for you, like I said, Babyonline does get it right when they aren't too busy or feel under pressure!  It is a very beautiful dress.

I agree with Bride2012, harsh...  I don't believe that any form of this statement will it be a "nicer way of stating"...  Society has caused the girls, women to believe that to be a certain size or else you fall into the fat category so therefore, they should fix the delusion they created.   Try telling a girl who tried to kill herself because she was being harassed by her family that she's "fat" at size 6.... that the fashion designers fix the numbers on little tags attached to the back of the jeans to act like a ltitle bandage for her wound....

THANK YOU, starchild. This is not the first time prettypigpig refers to other readers as "fat", "mutant" and other not so flattering words. She should stop being such a bully. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and if she fails to see that, I just feel sorry for her.

"Delusional/fat brides", unite! I'm a proud size 14 and my husband wouldn't trade me for any model.

If you read back in this forum you'll see PrettyPig is like that.  She is very critical of others and size standards.  We seem to forget that just about 100 years ago body fat was a sign of wealth and being able to feed your family and bear children.  Sizes have changed over the last 60 years.  Marilyn Monroe was a size 12/14, however, her measurements were only 37", 25, 36 (which is just a little off from my measurements and I'm VERY happy about that!), which is a 4 or 6 today in bottoms.

Being a 00 and having the body of child is not attractive to me.  Everyone has their own personal thoughts and PrettyPig has expressed many times that about the way she feels about sizing and curves.  This is supposed to about dresses and not about making any one else feel bad about themselves.

BACK TO DRESSES:  Highly recommend my dress maker for curvy or larger busted girls.  They got the D cups right with the perfect perportions, the waist is perfect, and the hips are perfectly done!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
