Gracimurano

It took about 3 weeks to get my dress which felt like a lifetime but they have Chinese New Year holiday now so they say it will take about 5 weeks. I would listen to advice they give you because I had an evening dress made by them and asked that they put a split in it, they said they thought it would not hang nice and they were right, now I am having it altered so it does not have the split

Hi Ladies,

You have been a great help in the past, and was again wanting some more advise! I am finding it hard to choose a dress that i "love", and so far have come up with two, that are pretty good. One is floor length and one is tea length. Every time i think that is the one, i change my mind, and think i will get the other one.  I am mainly thinking tea length as it will not get ruined with salt water and sand. Anyway..... i have found two dresses that i like on DHGate with MrChina, and was wondering if anyone had used them before? I was thinking i could order both and have one for the wedding and use the other for our dinner.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Many thanks

Hi Beachy,

I had the same problem as you and ordered 2 dresses as they were so cheap, I also thought 1 might come out better than the other. Now  think I think I have chosen my dress but I  don't know if I want to sell the other dress, keep it in case I change my mind again or wear one to the ceremony and the other to dinner. So I don't think I am any help but I think the tea length one sounds good for the dinner. Also have you tried on dresses in a similar shape and style to the dresses you like at DHgate, this might help you make up your mind

Dear Beachy,

As a famous wedding stylist in my country says: unless you are invited for the Oscar's, your wedding is most likely the only chance you will have to wear a big dress with a tail. Don't worry about the sand and salt water, that's the great thing about buying a 200$ dress! Why don't you show us the dress you have in mind?

Thanks for the reply Aussie-2. First of all your dress is amazing, maybe i should go with Babyonline! I live in a very remote area, and can not go and try on any dresses, so sort of going by styles that i like and styles of dresses that i already have. I think because there are sooooo many to choose from it is making it so much harder, and as you said it is so cheap, so that is why i am thinking of getting the two. If i went into a dress shop, i would only have a few to choose from, and that would be it.

Gracimurano, thanks for the reply. Yeah i know i should not worry about getting it wet, or ruined by the sand, as it is just for the day! I hope i can put links on here... these are the ones i am trying to choose between, so any thoughts would be great! We are having a very casual wedding with about 15 guests, so did not want something to fancy.

I just realized, that I never posted how my knock off dress turned out! So I figure Id post some photos for any brides considering this dress or this seller from dhgate.com

I ordered a knock off version of Maggie Sottero's Destination dress RD1044 (the one with the flower shoulder strap) I ordered through a seller named earlybird, and Im very impressed with the quality of dress! Its a chiffon dress, with a satin lining and the fabric is great and sewing is also very good, I have no complaints on this dress at all!  Here are a few photos, sorry they arent the best, hope they help someone though.

Oh gosh Beachy, I love them all!  I love the look of the 1st, short one...but I might prefer it long personally.  although the short is still super cute!

I guess if I had to choose one, I'd say the last one is my favorite.  But I think all 4 are great dresses and I'd be happy with any or all ha! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
