I haven't been on here in such a long time.  My bad, I was off getting married.  Moved up my date but Wow! What has happened on here?  This was /is  my first thread to pop in on since I joined.  Prettypig has been a staple since the first day I joined and from what I've read lately, I just don't get it.  Her attitude and tact or whatever you want to call it has been the same since day one.  I think we've relied on her experience with the vendors from China more than anyone on this forum.  Cultures are different.  Approaches and attitude may be different as well.  I've never been offended.  If it wasn't for her input, I would not have had a clue about ordering a knock off dress.   Blunt and to the point got me a dress that fit me to a T and was the most flattering shape on my body type and for 140 dollars.  I don't know, I guess others are more sensitive but now after two years of the same Prettypig, to say she may lose priveleges for being the same person she's always been, is just unreal. I think she genuinely wants to help brides or else why would she spend so much time and energy providing us all with so many tips and tricks? As a bride I wanted to look the best I could. Selecting the right dress and providing the vendors the proper information when ordering online were the main points Prettypig drove home.  I solicited her advice and applied it.  End result was an amazing knock off dress which I wore at my wedding.

Thanks Prettypig.

Thx Ginger!  I am glad that you valued my honesty.  Abnegation in abnegation on self-negligence is a common human flaw according to Freud.  Maybe it is better to look "__" on the wedding day, given no one would dare to say smth on that day but laugh afterward, than to hear the raw truth.  Me, I am a perfectionist, aware of my own flaws and truthful about them, want to stay healthy, live longer and don't become a burden of our society by increasing the healthcare cost (a Wall St analyst told me, catheter demand grows 8%/ year in USA, I got all grossed out!eek.gif, but hey, after my experience on this forum (thx Tammy), maybe I may buy the stock!), so I maybe I am a black sheep.  Wedding day is the most beautiful day of a women's life, so who would want to break their piggy bank to pay for a dress or look hilarious in a dress?!?! confused.gifagain, maybe I am a black sheep.

Like u, I am married and very happy, my hubby let me to have my own career as a financial vampire squid, and our maid free me up from housekeeping tasks like cleaning mirrors ...plus taking care of our prince cats, a Scottish Fold and a Highland lynx, that is why I have so much time to kill.  In addition to making money on the market using my financial knowledge + human behavior expertise, and commenting on this forum, I also contribute to other forums, and other charity orgs.  Life is good as a trophy wife! Santé! cheers.gif

Ok, I will just do like Facebook (just "Like") from now on given, Tammy said it in a very diplomatic way that I may lose my "privilege" to speak up (like a citizen of Russia or China) and just browse thru the treads like the Chinese dressmakers (oh yes, now brides wonder why their dresses came in bigger size?!) and other brides without contributing, and treat my PMs as usual with 110% honesty.

Hilly1gh- I really love the beading of your dress. I think babyonline did a great job! Amazing overall!

Rowe- Great skirt and love the flower!

Misskim_Red: Sorry to hear about all your problems you had with your seller. However, in the end it did work out and the dress is Beautiful. I love the colour of your dress. I think the short dress is really sexy as well!

Here is my final review of my dress and seller (www.dressilyme.com). I originally posted about this dress just a couple of weeks ago on post #3811 on Page 382 on this thread. There you can see pictures of the inspiration dress (callista style 9105) and the pictures that dressilyme originally sent me.

After the first pictures they sent me I asked them to add more beading and they responded within 24hours. I should tell you that I originally asked for pictures when I ordered the dress. I think it is important to ask up front in the  notes to seller to ensure that you get pictures. After they added more beading they sent me new pictures of the dress within 48hrs. Then I told them that they could ship my dress. it took them took them three days for quality control/packaging and then they provided me with a tracking #. it should be noted that dressilyme does not offer free shipping on their products unless there is a promotion. I decided to go with Fedex because I thought it would be reliable. It took three days business days to ship to Canada.

The dress arrived in less than a month (oct.25). It arrived in febex box. it was wrapped in plastic bay and then finally a dressilyme bag. I have attached pictures so that you can see what I'm referring to for your future reference.

After, i took the dress out. I had to turn it right side out. I believe this is a standard with most sellers. My first reaction  to the craftsmanship was great! I was thrilled to see the stiff netting on the inside of the dress and the seams were perfect, there were no loose threads. There are breast cups and boning (11 bones in bodice of dress) I have provided pictures below.

I absolutely love the beads on my dress. they used different beads on the hip detail. however, i love it more than the original because I think it will show up better in pictures. I cannot express how happy I am with the bead work and so happy that I asked them to add more to the skirt and chapel train. They didn't charge me for any extra bead work.

I had to ask my little cousin to  come over so that I could try on my dress. When I say the first pictures, I thought that the dress was going to be too short. I had my measurement done by a professional seamstress. however, she took my measurements in Centimetres and I had to convert it into Inches for dressilyme. Needless to say I was worried that my math was wrong.

However, the length of the dress is perfect! I was also worried about the breast cup size as well. As you can tell I have really large boobs lol I wear a DDD/ F cup in street size. Again however, all the measurements are perfect. I DON"T need any alterations at all. My dress is Perfect for me. I love my dress! I didn't try on any dresses in stores but that is because I know what I like and what I think looks good on me. My friends and family thought I was so crazy to buy a dress online without trying on dresses but this thread and project wedding's dressilyme thread helped me to decide what company to use and what kind of dress. If you have large boobs like me I suggest a lace-up back. Overall I would recommend dressilyme to my family and friends because I had no problems at all. I dealt with Paris from dressilyme when I ordered the dress and Karen from dressilyme sent me pictures and told the dressmakers to add more beads when the dress was being made.

Cost breakdown for my dress: $211 US  dress + $15 US for custom sizing + $35 US shipping + $27 CAN duty= $288 plus a couple of dollars due to currency exchange rate and paypal fees. I think my grand total for all fees is $298. YEAH for me!! because I don't need anything else. I have posted pictures below.  One pictures is with my cathedral veil that I bought fron Venusbridal shop on ebay.ca for $26 dollars CAN. It has scattered rhinestones on it.

My hope is that this long review will help others in the future like this thread has helped me. So sorry for the bad pictures and the length.

Exquiste02 - The dress looks perfect.  Thank you so much for your review.  I asked earlier if anyone had tried on dresses before they purchased online, but this is the first response and OMG... Amazing.  I have opted to try on dresses (sample sale) and if I find the right one that is outside how much I want to spend, I will definitely be looking to get it online.

Again.... The dress is amazing and it looks great on you.  Cheers to you for knowing what you want and getting it done without outside influences deterring you from doing it your way.smile159.gif

I tried a nice warning but some people are a little slower to "get it".

we will not tolerate any attitude towards forum staff or members.  Pretty pig was warned twice about her attitude towards others but cannot control herself.  So she no longer has forum privileges.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
