Ginger,

Babyonline may be better at communication but they are remarkably slow. I am so angry with them right now. I ordered at the beginning of February, gave them plenty of time to have my dress finished even with their new year holiday. They promised it would be no problem to have my dress completed and delivered by March 20.

A week later, after several communications telling me the dress will be done the next day, they are still asking for more time. I ordered so that I would have time for shipping delays, alterations, and even the possibility that I just wouldn't like the dress. I have finally told them that if it's not being sent out on Monday, I am canceling the order. If they had been upfront in the beginning and just told me it wouldn't be possible to have it complete until March 31 I would understand. It's already 2 weeks late!

That's terrible that they keep putting you off.  I am not pressed for time at all since my wedding is in November.  I do not find communication with them is great.  Monica Bridal was definitely better in that department.  When I do exchange emails with Babyonline they are nice, don't get me wrong but I do find they are pushing me off.  I agree with you though, be honest.  If the dress is going to take two months to make, then say that.  There is a lot of details in the dress I ordered from them, lace, beading etc.

What dress did you order from them?  to order the first of February and still not receive it, that's a long time, and if they knew your timelines, they should have given you priority.  I'm so sorry for your issues with them.  Crossing my fingers that it is ready for tomorrow.

Ginger,

There is a lot of detail on the dress I ordered, but that's why I wanted to confirm in advance that it would be done in time. I wasn't asking for top priority, just be honest. I asked Monica bridal if they could make it and they honestly told me "no."

In this whole wedding process, that's starting to be the biggest lesson learned. Everyone would rather lie and give you false hope instead of being honest and just tell the truth!

Mocha,

Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens every day in the business world.  It's all about securing the sale.  Basically, deliverying on promises does not seem to be a priority. What most vendors fail to realize is that by not making good on their committments, the chance for return business/repeat customers decreases dramatically. When people such as yourself speak up and spread the word, it makes others think twice about doing business with them.

Ginger,

I think that's why it's so frustrating to me. I am working on a multi million dollar construction project and it baffles my mind how disorganized supposed "professionals" can be.

I did receive a message today. Apparently, the dress was finished last week, but they weren't happy with the beading so they are adding more. She agreed to refund my money if the dress isn't sent on Monday. So hopefully, that will encourage them to get it done. Or be stuck with a custom sized dress and no buyer.

Ginger and Mocha,

It is the same in politics too, it looks like we will have a federal election soon!  Plenty of empty promises, and tons of money spent on ads!

Mocha, I hope the dress will be done soon and sent before ur big day! positive vibes~~~~

Hi, Ladies!

I've been lurking the past few days and figured I'd finally post!  First off, this is an AWESOME thread and I used the places suggested here to get a price quote on a dress that I want to have made.  First off, I'm having a fantasy-themed wedding, so I want my dress to be unique and to fit the theme.

Anywhos, after reading all the reviews I was wondering who you ladies thought would be best to make this dress (hopefully the pic will show up!!!).  I'm debating between Duosheng and Gianinar, since they have the lowest prices.  Did I mention I'm also on a tight budget???

Here's the pic and yes, it's from the BBC tv show Merlin and I know it won't be 100% identical and that the arm thingies are gonna be impossible to do... not that I'm in love with them.  I'm just wanting the design/fabric to be close. Sorry for the one being so large!!! :

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
