I think the cost was $200ish including shipping. There was a lot of beading and details that I didn't think they'd be able to do well, but it turned out beautiful. I just sent them a few pictures and they put the dress together for me, then sent me a picture of the final dress. I asked for the bottom to be taken in to give a more mermaid cut... they did that and then mailed it. The whole process took about 2 months.
Have you posted detailed pictures of your dress? I would love to see them. I want to order a dress with beading but was mostly worried about this aspect. Any pictures would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Courtney - I did buy my dress, a different designer though, I went over my budget but got what I consider a good deal for the dress I got and had such an amazing experience I decided to splurge on myself blush2.gif Mikaella is much more inexpensive than Alvina Vallenta, that's for sure.

I'm currently looking for an inexpensive TTD dress on one of these sites!

YAY!!!!! My fiance gave me the go ahead to order my dress from Gianinarbridal!!! They quoted me $180 including shipping! AND They only required a $60 non-refundable deposit to start the dress. Once "finished" they send proof pictures so you can decide if you want to go ahead and buy it or want anything changed. I'm ECSTATIC right now!!! This is the dress i'm having them make, but with a corset back.

How did you go about the whole thing...did you just email them and send pictures of what you wanted and then they quoted the pricehuh.gif
Yeah, I had tried on the dress a year ago (where the pictures are from) but its $1200!! I had pretty much given up on it but hadn't found anything else I liked as much and had tried on about 200 dresses. THEN I found this thread! I contacted a few people to get quotes and got the ok from my fiance to order form them. I just sent them a link to the designers website and asked them what they would charge to make it, how much shipping would be and how long it would take. Here's the reply I got:

"We can make this dress for you. The dress needs 30- 45 days to make and if you have a rush need, please let us know when you need the dress.

The price for the dress is $120. You can first pay $60 unreturnable deposit. After finish the dress, we will send you several pictures of real item and you can make decision to buy it or not. We cannot promise to make a 100% exact copy, however, we will try our best to make it most similar.

The shipping fee is $59 to usa for international express service (4-5 business days), if you are in other countries, please let us know

If you want to make this dress, please tell us your email address, then we will send you an email to let you know how to pay and which your measurements and other information should provide."

So as soon as I get the email with how to pay the deposit and measurement information I'll send in my numbers and also the more detailed pictures. I'm so excited that I actually get to see the real thing before it shows up on my doorstep!! They are awesome so far!

Agreed! I've been looking for like 5 months so far with no follow through as of yet!

Especially since what looks best on me is the last thing I imagined so now I'm especially weary!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
