This is great! Fantastic links and this is really making it seem more like something that would turn out great rather than horrible.

Has anyone ordered from oliviabridal.com or heard anything about them? They seems to do some of the more upscale dresses.

Thanks!

Hello ladies!

I live in Shanghai, China and I did all my dress shopping in the U.S. I took lots of pictures and found "the dress" It was $375 in the U.S. but I brought the pictures back with me to China and had the dress made in 2 weeks and it exceeded my expectations. Not to mention it was only $70 USD!!!! If I get a chance, I will post the pictures of me in the U.S. with my $375 dress compared to the pictures in my $70 China dress. My dress had silk, satin and chiffon along with beading and a corset back! I LOVE IT!!!!

I think if you have a good tailor they can do a great job. We've lived here a year and I've had lots of clothing made very cheap and good quality! I don't know what I'll do when I have to move back to the U.S. and have to pay full price for everything sad.gif

Good Luck girls!

~ Erica

This place looks awesome!!! For a TTD it's not too practical as it's on the expensive side. I'd try it for my wedding dress that's for sure :)

My dream dress is the top of a Pricilla of Boston and the bottom of an Amsale. I have a funny shape and that is what works best for me. I am SOOO excited I found this posting. I combined the pictures of what I am looking for and am anxiously awaiting a response e-mail to see if it can be done.

On a side note: I have a girlfriend that works at a bridal shop. Most of the bridal shops are the ones that make major money off the designers. The markup at her store is a minimum of 70%!! She said never pay sticker price its like buying a car.. Haggle. I just wanted to mention that for the girls are still purchasing a dress from one of their local stores.

That's just ridiculous! I know they have bills/employees to pay but seriously! Why isn't there somebody out there doing only 30-40% markup? You'd still make a killing AND get all the business....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
