When I found out that the bridal store gets their dress made in China, I decided to give the ebay thing a shot!

Yes, this is exactly why i decided to try Dhgate. Almost everything is made in China anyway. My dress has arrived at the airport but hasn't made its way over to me. Hopefully I'll have it by the end of the week.

hey

can you post pics??

i checked out okaydress.com and there are hardly any reviews on their website. there are no real life pics of brides in their gowns made by okaydress.com,, so i think i would stick to jasminesbridalshop.com, dressilyme.com or some girls on here went with dhgate and was very pleased with their gown...

Hi everyone!!!!

I am a n00b to posting here but have been lurking for a while.

So here it is: the dress purchase has to be done ASAP, and by ASAP I mean like 2 weeks ago.

Anyhoo, I have decided that China will be the source (for obvious budgeting reasons) and I've done a ton of research. Jasmine's is absolutely fantastic with their replicas but the prices are pretty high.... Then there is DH Gate, where I am stuck between 2 sellers (Babyonline and hua_yi_zhang/Denia's Bridal). I plan on spending somewhere around 600-700 regardless.

DRUMROL......

The ultimate question is this: Should I buy 3 dresses from DH Gate (1 of them has GOT to be good right???) or a single dress from Jasmine's?

Whatcha guys think???

Thanks :D

Well my dress from Wonderxue came today. I will post some pictures after I'm able to properly try it on but I will say, I'm not happy with it at all at the minute.  I ordered everything from Yuan, my veil, cover up and dress.

The jacketish thing looked nice at first but upon closer inspection and laying it beside the dress, it's actually a completely different colour.  The dress is  white as I asked for but the cover up is an ivory colour.  It's an off the shoulder lace affair that zips up the back.  There are jagged bits all around the lace appliques, when I took it out of the bag it had actually been sewn across the zip on both ends somehow so I had to break those stitches to even under the zip which resulted in beads falling off.  I feel mean saying bad things about the work as it fits PERFECTLY but the workmanship itself on the jacket is really bad, I could never wear it.

As for the dress, we had agreed there would be some tulle underneath to give it a bit of fullness, there is none.  Also it has a belt that's tacked on with about 15 stitches so that's not very impressive but is fixable.

I'll post a better description and some pictures of everything tomorrow after I'm able to get the dress on and properly see what it's like in full when it's laced up properly.

Well I can't speak for any other companies but I went with jasmines and LOVED my dress. I would totally recommend them. They are pricier than most others but the quality shows. Plus you get photos along the way and you have to approve the dress before they send it. If you plan on spending 600-700 you may even be able to buy one from jsmines and one from another seller. I got my dress for 450$ and it was only premium grade. I was almost exactly the same as the original. I'll try to post comparison pics.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
