That was me!  I bought one from babyonline with 3 1/2 months to go before my renewal and when they sent pics it looked nothing like the photos@!   I cancelled and had to start over with someone else.

There are companies on DHgate now that post actual pics.  Do a search for wedding dress actual pictures (or photos) and you will find some that post their real work.  Even if it is not the exact dress you can get an idea of the quality.

Hi ladies,

Candy is no longer working at Jasmines so I've been dealing with James. Unfortunately he does not "get" what I want like Candy did and so my dress does not look like my mid production photos anymore (which is how I loved it). I asked for him to add one more rosette to the right of the dress so that you can only see it from the side. But I don't think he understood what I meant and so the skirt has completely changed so that it's rosette overkill. I'm hoping they can fix it because right now I'm not loving my dress sad.gif

I will post pics up later when I'm on my computer

Hi, I was told that Candy no longer works at Jasmine's as well. So like you, I am working with James for my dress. I was a bit worried so I contacted him and sent all the information, measurements and photos again. When I got the mid-production pics, I realised that he didn't know about my request about shortening the train length, oh well, that can be fixed...

I also contacted him about embellishment. He said that my dress will have rhinestones, crystals, and seed beads. :)

That does stink... Im sure they will work hard to make your dress how you want it though.Whatpage has your post with your dress pics? I wanna see!

My dress @ mid production is on page 472.

This is the version they sent me before the misunderstanding that led to rosette overload

I think I did over react the other day. I think the dress does look better from the side. But I def prefer the front of the dress prior to the revisions. I sent James 4 emails in 24 hours (in a state of panic) and he has reassured me that it can be fixed. Hopefully I get pics in the next few days and I will post them on here.

I can't fault James' communication. After hearing his explanation, I'm not surprised that he didn't know about your request about shortening the train length. What's great though is that he is willing to go above and beyond to get the dresses made to his customer's satisfaction.

This is part of James' response when I communicated my frustrations about the dress (and also not dealing with Candy). I hope he doesn't mind me posting it but I think it will be useful to those who were dealing with Candy to perhaps reiterate to their new sales rep how they want their dress made:

"Now, about Candy: I don't think she knew what you wanted, because if she did then she should have put notes in the work order describing the details you have mentioned, but unfortunately no such details are present in the work order she has prepared.  The only instructions were to replicate the dress as on this page: http://www.jasminesbridalshop.com/index.php?task=productdetail&id=11154

It is unfortunate that she had to leave, but Candy had issues which did not align with the values of our company and she was a trainee who worked here for 3 months only.  She might have told you that she understood what you meant, but she probably really didn't - this is one of the problems we had with her which lead to her departure.  I am the co-owner of our company and I have consulted customers on over 2000 dresses, and I was the one who researched/analyzed the original Gemma dress for 4 months to replicate it as accurate as possible like the original.  I know this dress' structure like the back of my hands.  So you are in good hands, I assure you :)   And I just need you to please tell me what needs to be changed at this point, and my team will take care of it - we always do :)

On a side note: this replication (the first photos you have received) did not turn out to be as accurate to the original as we would like it to be, because it was a Premium Grade seamstress who worked on it.  But it turned out that you liked most parts of it, which is coincidental but great for both of us :)

If you can continue to highlight all the issues you have with this latest photos, it would be very helpful to us.  Thank you!  Don't worry, we *will* make the dress the way you want it to be :)"

Okay ladies, I got my mid-production photos of my dress yesterday from Jasmine's.  I looked it at with my MOH and my initial reaction was, something ain't right about it and also why does it look like it's got no shape?  I mean the bodice doesn't exactly have that hourglass look I expected so does this have to do with my shape? I have no idea. I did custom measurements but I also tried on the original dress and it definitely gave me that hourglass shape that I wanted.  I think also the rouching in the bodice is wrong in the front.  Any help would be well received and appreciated. Thanks!

I think the dress looks great! I do think the rouching needs to be tighter and closer to one another, seems like the original has more lines... If that makes sense. Or may be it just seems that way cause the beading isn't on yet? Also I do see what you mean by the lack of hour glass shape, I wonder why that is? Double check your measurements maybe? Or maybe you could send them a pic of you in the original, just to be sure he knows that's how you want it to fit..

To me, it looks like they've put the dress on the wrong sized mannequin. That could explain the no shape and the rouching not looking quite right. Do you have a picture of the back you can post?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
