Thanks for all the support throughout this process.  They shipped my dress Monday and I received it Thursday.  I would still recommend Gianinar Bridal because the detailing is amazing, I would just suggest you give at least a 40 days window between the date you give and your actual wedding date.  I gave them August 10th as my wedding date (actually is September 30th) and it arrived August 16th.  So 6 days late for my fake date, still plenty early for my real wedding.

Thanks Ladies!  I got only a few seconds to try it on this morning, didn't get pictures.  Sorry!  I will take some this Friday when my MOH comes over to get her dress fitted.

I can tell you that they did a PERFECT job on the fit and length!  I need NOTHING done but the bustle.  Fit is perfect, length is perfect.  Thank God they put the cap sleeves on as detachable.  They went a little over the top on the detailing on the cap sleeves and they overpower the dress.  I could remove some of the detailing and keep the sleeves.  Haven't decided yet.

Given everything, I would definitely go this route again and not look back.

I will post pictures by Saturday, August 25th!  Promise!  woot.gif

Yep, I ended up asking them to do an understated sweetheart neckline as I'm not a huge fan of the really round sweetheart necklines that they usually do. I also changed the ruching, which they did and here's the result.

I'm really happy with it! Like many other brides on this forum, I highly recommend them. The only advice I have is to make sure to point out everything that you don't like with the mid production photos, no matter how minor it is. This is the third set of mid production photos they have sent me, which shows how accomodating they are.

Hi, ladies! I am new here and so happy I ran across this forum. Does any one have experience with Vivian-Dress on ebay? I am thinking of getting this dress...

Does anyone have any advice on what I should ask of the dress maker? Any suggestions on tried and true dress makers? Thanks!

I haven't personally tried Vivian from ebay so I can't vouch for or against that seller. I think most brides here would recommend Jasmine's bridal shop but I guess it depends on your budget and how picky you are with the final product. I tried two other chinese dressmakers, and wasn't really happy with their results. But then again, I'm pretty picky.

The first one was from a seller by the name of romanticweddinggown on dhgate . I had specific instructions for them to remove the flower from the dress and replace it with a brooch, which they did not do. They didn't send me any mid production photos or any correspondence after paying them. However, I only paid $120 for it and for that money, it was pretty good. However, the fabric was cheap looking (100% polyster) and there were a few flaws that I couldn't overlook. It also only looked about 60 per cent like the original and their measurements were a little off in terms of strap length. I find that a lot of chinese dress makers tend to make straps and necklines really high up

The second seller I tried was on ebay by the name of world.a. Again, the fabric was cheap and nasty looking. Before ordering, I had asked them what the composition of their fabric was, and they had stated "we only use the highest quality fabrics" which is complete bulldust.

My advice to you is to check with Vivian if she has made this dress before and whether she has real pictures of the dresses she has made. To me, it looks like a complex dress:

1) It looks like high quality duchess satin, and most ebay sellers use really thin satin

2) There's a lace and beading component, which may be difficult to replicate

3) The rouching and pleating has to be really precise

Jasmine's bridal is a little pricier than other "knock off" places, but they are well worth it for piece of mind. It took me 2 years to find them.

Here are pics of a copy of 'vera wang gemma' dress that my cousin brought from Jasmines. Really happy with it and the process was really easy..although there was a little bit of back and forth emailing but they were always so helpful. No upgrade on the craftmanship and materials. Highly recommend Jasmines! Just wanted to say thank you to all who have posted on this valuable thread and thought I'd try do my bit to help anyone wanting to get a replica.. .photo.JPG photo(1).JPG
Gorgeous dress ;) I have a question about how Jasmine's bridal shop pack and ship the dress, which hopefully you can help me with. It's hard to tell from the pics but I'm scared that the rosettes at the bottom of my dress will look limp from the way they tightly pack the dresses into bags. Did the rosettes on the bottom of the dress get squished or is it still volumous? Much appreciated if any other ladies who have ordered fuller skirts can provide me with their experiences.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
