trivera5521,

It was Shades of Pale. I had soooo many high hopes for them because I started communicating with them in August 2011 and we went back and forth for 3 months getting all the details down to the "t". I ordered the dress in mid February 2012 and it was supposed to arrive mid April 2012. Nothing......they never sent production pictures and would reply every once in a while telling me they were going to have it done.......I had to make the decision to pull the trigger and go with Plan B (Jasmines). When I corresponded with Shades of Pale to tell them I was trying to recover my money, they told me they don't do refunds.....Paypal would give me a refund b/c they said it was after their 45 day time frame. I ended up getting the money recovered through my bank though.

Wow...was afraid it was them, I too loved a dress on their site and started communication months ago. We discussed grades of material, detail the whole bit then for One day to the next they just stopped. Countless emails later still no response, glad I never actually paid for it. I was lucky enough to see their true colors before spending a dime. Sorry about your experience. Guess best we can do is warn other brides. Super glad it's working out at jasmines :) can't wait to see pics!

trivera5521,

Glad you dodged that bullet! Have you decided who you will choose to do the dress? I think SOP was just a bad experience for a few people here, however, there are so many vendors that BDW brides have used and have great success. If you haven't read the entire thread, by the time you finish reading it, I am sure you will have some contenders!

I'll be sure to post pics when I get the dress. I have already gotten mid production pictures and when I wanted some changes, they made those and sent me more pictures. Now the only thing they have to do is put the appliques on. I should have the dress in hand by August 9th, so it won't be long!

Hi

I hope I  can help some ladies who want to make lazaro replica~

Mine arrive from china today~. I actually ordered 2 dresses just in case from two different dhgate seller.

One is here. I asked for white sash but they sent me gray one. so I have to do some alterations  and get some petticoat to make  more like A line dress?

Should I get a regular Aline crinoline/petticoat or train one?

Waist is ok but bust area on back side (I think they just added extra fabric on standard size) is tight  for me sick.gif ~ need to squash.

Anyway for the price I guess it's ok. I think I am going to trim the bottom( so far I don't like the bottom lace shape?  but may  change  my mind later.)

Thanks for looking~

I went with ivory from jasmines because I'm pale as well. My dress is a very light ivory which I'm happy with. It's not stark white but not that harsh white that regular white is. Good luck your dress is beautiful!

Hi Ladies,

Just got an email from Gianinar Bridal and my dress is 3-4 days from completion.  I should have my dress in hand within the next 15 days.  I'm so excited.  I told them my wedding date was a month earlier then it actually is to ensure arrival in time.  I can't wait to see the pictures!!!!

I went with a copy of an Oleg Cassini I tried on at David's Bridal.  This is me trying on the dress at David's.  I will upload the copy images once I receive them.

I think your dress looks really pretty.  I would just hem the bottom.  Doesn't look too tight.  I actually like the grey belt.!

I just got "post" mid production pictures of my dress from Jasmines which means they are almost done with it. (I am supposed to have it by August 9th). Although I think it is very close to the replica, I still think there is something missing. It is something in the skirt portion  but I can't imagine what it will take to complete the look.  I am attaching a picture of the inspiration but I already knew that I wanted a different skirt from the inspiration picture.  I initially wanted ruffles for the skirt portion but I didn't want the ruffles to compete with the bodice area of the dress so I just went with tulle.

When they sent me mid production pictures last week, I told them I wanted more layers of tulle for the skirt because even at that time the skirt wasn't really "wowing" me. They added more layers but I am still thinking even more. But I do have to keep in mind that I will still have a slip on underneath to lift the layers and give them some volume (can't think of what it's called right now b/c my mind is drawing a blank) Maybe once this is underneath the dress, all will be fine, but I really can't afford to wait to get the dress to see whether that works on not.....I am literally on a time line right now because I know the sooner I have them to make the alterations, the sooner I can get my dress.

We are leaving for Jamaica on August 27th and I paid extra to have production completed 2 weeks earlier than normal, so I am supposed to have the dress in hand on August 9th.  I really need to let them know aobut any more changes TONIGHT when i email her. Aside from making sure the ruching lies straight and adding beading/sequins to the appliques, any other suggestions? (Another reason why I realized why my tulle skirt may not look as I thought it would is because I am not as tall as the models that I saw with a tulle skirt on their dresses; I am only 5'1" so that's not a lot of skirt)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
