Just one.  I have only been able to find it in one place.  I don't know who the "inspiration" comes from though.  I have been searching for weeks.

The dress is beautiful.

I wanted a replica made of the Allure c166 wihtout the one shoulder strap and detail. I am going to have them make a few minor changes, but overall I am really happy with it. Let me know what you think? I have asked for the sweethear "v" to be made deeper and some of the folds to be smoothed out. The beaded part is a sash that is going to be removable, and there will be a different sash with flowers (similar to the origianl dress shoulder detail) as well. I will decide which one I want to wear for the ceremony and which one I want to wear for the reception. Let me know your thoughts...all are appreciated!

Hi everyone,

I had my first fitting today.  If you look back 10 pages or so you'll see my dress from babyonline.com.  It was too long and the skirt was A-line and I really want fit and flare.  I can blame the xtra length on babyonline, but I was not very clear about the shape of the dress I wanted.  I knew either way I would have alterations and I was very happy with the quality of the dress I received for $185.  It is going to be more complicated too shorten my dress than I originally thought, because all the bottom bead and lace work has to be removed and then reapplied.  Yet, the total she quoted me is $350.  I live in the Washington, DC area and I think that price is fantastic.  For under $550 I will get the dress of my dreams.  The original is over $1,200!  I am nervous because the seamstress said she wasn't sure she could get it as "fit" as I like, because of the organza fabric.  I guess it depends on how it is cut (on the round, or something like that).  She said if the dress was satin that wouldn't be a problem.

What I would take away from my experience at this point is to make sure your measurements are accurate and taken by a professional.  Make sure you describe the shape of your dress and ask for pictures.  Pick the fabric that looks best on you and know the differences between the different fabrics (I don't and have no idea).  Be prepared to pay for alterations - it's not like you can fly to China to try it on before they ship it.

I'll keep you posted as the alterations go forward - I've got one scheduled once a month until April.

Thank you! I do have a photo of the back, but the back of the skirt isn't finshed yet. I will post a photo once I have a complete one of the back :)

You are in the K.O. dresses thread. PPP was a very helpful member on this thread.  You can do like me, read the whole thread from the beginning, and take notes.  She provided the step by step on how to order a dress. Don't worry this thread was drama free and very fun to read up until page 386 or around there.

@Bride2012,

I assume from Lindy's comments that the first dress is hers.

@Lindy S

I think your dress is beautiful! Congratulations! I love the idea of having two sashes for the wedding and reception!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
