Overall, this is my 6th wedding dress.  However, this is the third one I've ordered for this renewal and I finally got exactly what I wanted!  Better than what I wanted!

well said misskim!!!

Being Asian does not excuse her for the degrading things she has said.

I'm Asian and did suffer the criticisims from my family who told me i was too short, chubby, had big feet, big boobs, and big butt. As a child, if your family can't seem to love you for who you are, then how do learn to love yourself.

I still struggle with it a little bit everyday...luckily I moved far from them and only have to deal with it once year when I come home for a holiday.  My fiance has helped me learn to love myself a little bit more everyday cheesy.gif

PrettyPig,

Just the for record my measurements do not constitute high body fat.  My BMI is on the lowest end of average and I work out 5 days a week.  My body was built with curves the same as your body was built without them.  I  think you need to choose your words more carefully.

I work for a wedding chapel and every day have to deal with brides who are self conscious about their body image and don't like themselves in their pictures.  Nothing is more heartbreaking then having a bride NOT love her photos and have bad things to say about herself when the man that loves her most in the world is sitting right next to her.

You have these comments and beliefs, fine.

Vettiebean,

My family is Irish and we say what's on our mind just as much as any culture.  We are here to talk about dresses and quality.  If she wants to say have someone take great measurements, good say it.  But don't use degrading words like mutant and refer to anyone else's body as belittling as PrettyPig has in the past.  Read back several pages and read some of the things that have been said; it will make your stomach turn.  This is a brides day to be in the spotlight and I'm tired of seeing brides so unhappy with their body that they can't see the true meaning of the day and of their photos.

Keep comments to dresses, construction, and how we can make the most of our amazing day....find another forum to belittle and berate people and use harsh words.

I bought a short dress on ebay for only $100 that I am going to surprise my husband and change in to for the pictures on Fremong Street.  I was super impressed with the quality and it has tags on it so I looked it up.  She bought it from: Ballybridal.com.  The quality is amazing and there is real beading, no sequins!  Apologize for the poor fit but I don't have anyone to lace it up here with me!

wow, finally another a nice dress!  flowy, elegant and simply, perfect for a destination wedding.  The BM dresses look so cute too!  One of my colleague ordered a super puffy dress Kate Hudson's dress in brides war) from imweddingdress.com too, it turned out to be very puffy and princess looking.

Ok girls ...enough of niaiserie! back to the dresses, or else I will have 6 pack abs and need to go for a botox treatment soon

Xmas is coming (hohoho...pink champagnes and bling bling gifts!!!), I need several dresses for charity dinners, corporate parties, house parties and my new year cruise down south (generous gift from my hubby on our 100 days anniversary...after I forced him to watch Titanic with me! mouhahaha)! woohoo~

So...any inspiration on nice cocktail dresses ( aka rehearsal dinner/welcome dinner dresses)?

I came across a website www.asos.com, amazing nice little dresses and free shipping (both ways), I wish I found it when I was shopping for bm dresses.

Also, being in Montreal, there is no Davids' bridal...argh!!! Have anyone seen this dress in David's store? If yes, is it as nice as the pic?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
