hey  girls, i really need your help. I am really confused ive been reading here quiet a while but i dont think ill be able to read all the posts because i am running out of time. My wedding is on the 19th of november this year. and I found the dress I want ive been writing with duosheng. That lady is really nice, so service is amazing, they want 300 dollars for the dress and 400 dollars for better quality. I just got an email back from gianinarbridal (she does take a lil bit longer to reply) but they only want 150 dollars, i really really do not know what to do. I cannot afford the original dress which would cost me 1500 euro (we are stationed overseas) but at the same time i do want a perfect looking dress and i do have to order it from china. With gianinarbridal Im scared they will be late because ive read some posts were they actually took longer than promised and that would be really bad. because it will take longer to get it shipped on military base here in germany. I just really need your help should i go for duosheng or ginaniarbridal???

I have not ordered from this dhgate seller yet, but I have been communicating with them. They have great communication so far. They are always quick to respond and are very helpful. I asked them to send me some photos of some dresses they have made. Here is what they sent me. Their user name is: akilbridaldress  Has anyone used this seller before? The photos of the dresses they sent me look pretty good. They have good reviews, just not a lot of reviews.

I am going through Gianinar bridal right now, so that's really the only company I can comment on. Tip: Do Not order from them if you have less than 2-3 months till your wedding date. I ordered two dresses (one wedding dress, one reception dress) on March 24, and recieved my first full dress photos on June 16th. They had also been sending me progress pictures before this. Also keep in mind that these are both custom designed dresses so all they really had to go off of were drawings and pictures of different parts of different dresses to help them picture what I wanted. The things I like about Gianinar is that you pay a $60 deposit per dress, then they send you pictured and they will alter it if you want any changes made to the picture they sent you (although I suggest requesting changes one at a time, because often when I requested multiple changes only a couple would get done. This might be due to the language barrier), then once you are happy with your dress you will pay the rest of the amount (my wedding dress is $120 total and my reception dress is $150- its a little more detailed), then they ship it to you. At first the communication was great- they replied every night, but now it usually takes about 2-4 days to get a reply. They are always friendly and courteous, and I am somewhat picky about my dresses because they were designed by me, so I have a picture in my head of how I want them to turn out. I am confident that the dresses will turn out exactly how I want them to, but I expect it to take a little time. My wedding isn't till May so I ordered over a year in advance. It has been 5 months since I ordered and I still haven't recieved my dresses, however I ordered ahead of time to prepare for this. So if you want a beautiful dress, at the best cost, and are willing to wait a little bit go with Gianinar. But if you're in a rush I suggest you go with one of the other, more expensive (but still wayyy less than you would spend at a US bridal shop) dressmakers like Jasmine's Bridal, Landy Bridal, Light in the Box, etc... that have been recommended by some of the other brides on this thread. Good luck with your dress shopping!

I'm a newbie :)

I just spent most of my vacation week reading through this entire thread. All of you beautiful ladies have given such wonderful advice. I really enjoyed reading all the posts and looking at the original pictures VS. replicas was very informative.  It was amazing how the communication stories between buyer and seller became more detailed and specific with every bride. Just shows how valuable your advice has become.

I believe I found my dream dresses and I am currently composing notes of details so I can receive honest quotes. I know that I want to purchase sample swatches to compare. I also want to see finished product pictures. I am in the process of loosing weight so I will need to try on more types of silhouettes to ensure the flattering design. I also want to start communications with the vendors to make sure that we understand each other fully. And yes, I will be measured by a professional!

So far I believe that I will be dealing with either Gianinar Bridal or Jasmine's Bridal. I sent each a quick email on the dress pics I have for a rough idea of price and ability to perform the design.

This is what I learned:

Jasmine's Bridal was very specific on details and expectations. They want a very detailed list of questions and concerns. But they also stated for me to check out their previously made dresses to make sure I felt that their designs would meet my demands BEFORE they would even concider looking at my pictures. You can see their work on their website and also on facebook.

They seem to be pricer but they also appear to push top-line materials.

Gianinar Bridal: I found the dress I love on their ebay store. It is a picture of their actual work!  They also have a web site www.gianinarbridal.com and their work can also be seen at www.aliciarbridal.com.  Their communication so far seems well, within 12-24 hours. Not bad since I do live in Canada. Their prices are lower. By about half or more compared to Jasmine's Bridal. (but Jasmine did ask for $400 to design Gianinar's dress that was quoted at $130. That's just crazy to me.)

I actually seem to like Gianinar's pictures of finished products a little more. But, I haven't decided on the material yet. That may be a deciding factor.

Without further ado, these are the pictures of the dresses that I am after.

The ivory is Gianinar's actual dress. (pronovias 2007 inspiration) and the other I believe to be Demetrios GR124. BOTH ARE DISCONTINUED LINES.

(I want as a ceremony dress ...exactly but with corset.)

( I would like this in pink like the picture for the reception dress)

Thanks for letting me share!

thanks shishkabobbett! I think I will go with duosheng. I havent heard anything bad from them yet or are there any bad reviews? I would like to go with Ginaniarbridal but ive been reading so many posts where it took longer and I need to have my dress on time. Even tho its more expensive to buy it from duosheng, i guess ill go with them. I am so scared they will make the dress in such a rush where it will look horrible. I hope that will not happen. Thanks for your suggestion.

Gianinar does offer an express service for an extra charge, so if you want to go with them I would email them and double check that they can have it done before your wedding date. Another tip: tell them your wedding is earlier than it actually is, so they'll rush it faster. If you go with duosheng their dresses do look very high quality. Ask them for pictures before shipment.

I'm chasing my tail when it comes to babyonline!!!! Every time I ask for a picture of the dress on a mannequin, they send some picture of someone holding it and you can't see the dress properly. When I email them back they tell me their camera is broken so they can't take pictures. Then I'll get the crappy picture again and when I ask for it on mannequin the camera is broke again! Today I got my third email from them stating camera is broke, LOL, I'm ready to give up!!

I love these, did you contact a person directly for these? I was wondering maybe if I ordered 11 if they would give a discount of some sort and also if they can change the top around like a halter, regular and strapless?? I just want them all to be the same color.

I was a little nervous the past 2 days, but was tried not to think about it too much. I ordered four bridesmaid dresses and I think they turned out great! I took the photo with my phone, so it's not the best quality, but hopefully you can get the idea. I'm glad I didn't stress too much. The dresses seem to be made very well and the overall quality of the chiffon is nice. Thoughts? For $90 or so these can't be beat!

First is the inspiration, second is the knockoff...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
