erinmc: I ended up ordering it from bigdaydress. I actually emailed them both and asked them if they had made a similar dress to the one i wanted for other customers before. Monica bridal didnt respond. Babyonline said, they have not - but they can replicate it for me. Bigdaydress's customer service forwarded me 4 other dresses that had similar ruffles that i wanted, so i went with them. They were about $100 more than the sellers from dhgate, but i figured, they had the experience and i rather pay the extra $100 and have the dress done right the first time. Giannar bridal didnt respond til 2 weeks later - after i already put my order in for Bigdaydress. Another store, i contacted was Jeff Liu after i read some recommendations on here... he wanted to charge me $400 even though, he wasn't able to forward me any pics of any dresses similar to the one i wanted...

I'm supposed to get my approval pics from bigdaydress this week... I'm so excited but also very nervous... i'll post them, once i get them :)

erika417 - i tried a few times over the weekend to do online chat with babyonline but couldn't reach anyone. Had spoken to them twice last week without issue (sorry cannot recall the time times but I think it would have been early evening EST), and then talked again today around 10am EST. You have to create an account and login. Have to say the english was good and they were very nice. Will keep everyone updated as I deal further with them and get my dress.

Online chat has been great. They say it will be ready to ship in 18 days. I promise you keep you girls updated and will post pictures when it gets here!

I think you made a great choice :)  Both dresses are beautiful, but I think #2 will be much more comfortable to wear (based on how it looks in the pics)

$650 is still a HELL of a lot less than you would have paid in store AND your dress is custom!!!!! Take a deep breath, pour that drink and relax.... you will have a $650 dress you love as opposed to a $300 dress you are self conscious in!!!!!  It is your day so you deserve to be happy and just think... it could be worse... you could be ordering a whole NEW dress!!!!

Definitely check out Barefoot Tess, they were great to deal with and have a beautiful selection of big shoes :)

I'm a little less mad about the extra money now, I realize that it could have certainly been a complete disaster, but thankfully the rest of the dress was so well made that it was only the front layer of chiffon that was giving me so much trouble.  If I had to order a whole new dress now to arrive for our wedding in September I would not be able to sleep until the bugger arrived lol

And besides, FI got a $400 suit, so I've told him that as the bride I'm supposed to look better than him, so that requires more money!  He kinda gave me this look: blink.gif  But then he realized that he's not just marrying Mrs. Right, but my first name is "Always", so he agreed lol

So... i received my approval pics from bigdaydress in only 1 month + 4 days after i submitted the order. I've tried the original dress on back in June and fell in love with it, but didnt want to spend the $1400 for the original dress...after doing some research, i decided to go with bigdaydress and ordered it in July. And I have to admit: I looooooooooove the dress!! I wanted some changes to the original dress (no shoulder strap, add beadings to bodice) and they did it exactly how i wanted it. I love it! However, in one of the pics, it seems like the right part of the bodice is uneven. I dont know, if it's because they didnt tie it in the back correctly in that pic or if it's really uneven like it looks like... I've emailed them about it... let's see what they say... what do you think?

Here is the original dress from Demetrios:

This is the pic that makes me a bit worried... the right upper part of the bodice looks off. I dont notice it in the other pics though - is it because they tied it incorrectly or weird angle or something??

The dress looks gorgeous!  I see what you're saying about that little area though.  Ask for more pictures from more angles and ask for a closeup of that particular spot.  It's just as easy to take five pictures as it is to take one once the dress is on the model :)  Learn from my experience!  Don't just pass it off as "maybe it's a bad angle/tieup job", make sure it's suitable to you before it leaves the factory.  It's easier for them to fix it than it is for you once you receive it.

The dress is beautiful, you made a great choice :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
