@FutureMrsLewis, Sorry to hear about your ordeal with FabU, the only dress maker that I have see their work face to face is Jasminebridal.....a friend order her dress from them and it was a great dress and well finished. At her wedding a lot of people think she was wearing a $5,000+ dress but she only pay $550.

Since your wedding date is closer if you can drive to Virginia, I'm not sure what state you are, you can check out "CHURCHSTREET BRIDAL" on facebook, they also have a blog.....they are YMCA organization based in Lynchburg VA....that get samples dress, discontinued dress, cancelled order etc.... from major bridal shop such as kleinfeld and their prices are reasonable....the only thing is that you might need to clean, repair .....you can call/email the lady in charge to see if they have dresses in your size all the reviews I read on wedding bee website are positive. Goodluck

Hello everyone,

I am a budget bride-to-be,so i tend to buy knock off from china.i have checked some forums and put some chinese sellers on my list. lightinthebox? milanoo?duosheng?elegantpark?

I have checked the four, the first two seems to be more trustful, but they sell many things except for wedding dresses, it gave me the feeling that they are not professional bridal gowns sellers.

As for the other two, website is not that good but they have customer made dresses.i want my gowns fit me perfectly.

It is really hard to decide.confused.gif

Have any of you ordered from any of them before? or know any thing about them?  or any other recommendations?

Anything will be appreciated! thanks!

That is horrible you do have time to order another dress.  You will need to start asap or try to find one on clearance/sample.  Have you contacted the company about the package.  There are many better companies you can find them in this forum.  Dont panic just get to work to fix this.

Just as a reminder, here is the original gown:

The embroidery was very well done, and the gown is MOSTLY well made (has boning in the breast area and through the sides) but it's torn!!  And it was obviously torn before it left the factory because it was shipped in a plastic bag inside a box and the plastic bag didn't even have a single puncture or tear.  Here are some pics I took:

The tear goes right along the lowest "wrinkle" in the dress.  They tried to hide it behind said "wrinkle", but it keeps popping out on my right side (left side of the pic above).  Plus, those "wrinkles look like they're just that, wrinkles!  It was supposed to be gathered on one side and then just let fall on the other side, but this looks like I've got a belly like a wrinkly dog.

Now I'm an emotional person, I'm a sook, I know.  But I honestly was devastated when I saw this rip in my gown.  I cried my heart out sad.gif  And I ordered a tiara with my gown, they packaged it inside my gown and the box was completely crushed when it got here (which would be okay if it weren't for the tiara!).  So my tiara was destroyed beyond repair and my dress had a rip in it... I wish momma had told me exactly HOW many of these days I was gonna have....

What should I do ladies?  I'm getting married on September 26th, do I even have enough time for another gown?  Can this one be salvaged?

How does the rest of the top look? Is it allright?

I would ask the vendor for a refund. Take the dress to a trusted seamstress and see if they can fix it, and how much it would cost. Hopefully, there is enough fabric at the bottom to save the skirt. When you received the package did you write on the delivery slip that the box was crushed? If you didn't note damage to the box on delivery, you might be out of luck for the tiara.

If you can find someone that will guarantee that another dress will be complete and shipped out within the next two weeks, you shouldn't have any trouble getting a new one delivered before your wedding. But be prepared for a lot of stress. I ordered a new dress two months before our wedding, I am a whatever happens, I'll deal, type of person and it was damn stressful! They kept delaying shipment and I ended up getting my dress a week before we left. I had to rush around trying to find a seamstress to get alterations done in two days.

Good Luck!

Yesterday I FINALLY purchased my dress from Dressilyme.com After months of lurking, debating, and taking your various inputs into consideration I decided to go with Dressilyme to make my Reception Dress for my February 2012 Wedding. Here is the link to the dress on the Dressilyme website: http://www.dressilyme.com/wedding-apparel/exquisite-one-shoulder-floristic-ruffled-wedding-dress-pd-8529/ Below are pictures from their Flicker account.

I was and am still very much in love with my Ceremony dress, but I stumbled upon this thread and felt that it would be a travesty to not get a 2nd dress at such a great price! Now I am a little different in the fact that I do not know who the original designer of this gown is (if someone out there does know it would be nice to know). Also I have tried on dresses close to this one, but never the exact same, so I am don't have super high expectations for it to look exactly like the original. The only thing that worries me are the ruffles, but since it seems as though they have executed this dress perfectly before it should not be an issue. I did not have any modifications done to the dress other than removing the semi-train and just having the dress be floor-length all around.

Now I can't wait for the next 2 months to fly by so I can try it on! I requested pictures before they ship and while it is in production if possible. What do you ladies think? I feel that Dressilyme is a great company but I would like your opinions. Also do you think I should add beading to the bodice it seems a bit plain, but I am worried I will mess the dress up if I do. Thoughts?

Thank you all again for your input!!!

I could order another dress, but I'd be cutting it VERY close on time!  I think I'm better off just getting my seamstress to salvage this one.  Even if she has to take off the chiffon layer on the front of the skirt and replace it, it's better than any other alternative I have right now.

I contacted the company and showed them the pictures and they apologized and they're sending me a new tiara and a necklace set as an apology.  The dress isn't completely ruined, most people probably won't even notice the rips in the fabric as they are mostly hidden by those "wrinkles", it just upsets me that it wasn't picked up on and now I have to try and fix it.  It can definitely be hidden behind the "wrinkles" with a little hand sewing, but that means that the wrinkles are there to stay :(

The rest of the dress is perfect and completely flawless, it's just that stupid rip and those ugly wrinkles!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
