what do you think about that ?

I have been trying to find a picture over the internet but since it is discountinued, can't seem to find one.

Funny Prettypigpig, ironically Vera Wang actually has a line at David's bridal now!!  If you found a $99 DB dress I don't think you would be getting it "replicated" as they wouldn't be able to do it for cheaper!

It depends on the original dress.  If it is an Amsale or Vera Wang, there are no comparison.  If it is a David's Bridal $99 dress, then I would say it gets very close.

Like Mocha said, the material is the key difference, also the cut as well.

It is a gorgeous dress and vbbbtk is right, I don't know why they always show the corset string out but it looks silly to me... tuck those in!!!!!

Beautiful dress!

Most of the time for the lace up back people tie them in a knot at the bottom and tuck the strings in the dress so nothing is showing... no bow no string tails etc.  Just an idea

Hey Joanne

Thanks so much! And yes I totally specified to them to make all these changes.I was really specific with exact measurements on how much sleeve I wanted added on and how much higher I wanted the collar to go. Its kinda a little too high in my opinion but thats my fault for just worrying that it would still be too low.   The whole dress is supposed to be organza but it is SO much lighter and less hot than the original. I think they did an awesome job on what I wanted for sure. As long as you are incredibly specific they will do what you ask. It was great working with them for sure. I hope this helps you make your decision.

Have a question if you don't mind - did you specify to them you wanted the higher neckline and shortsleeves or this is how they made it? Also in the bottom of yours organza and the original satin/taffeta?

Just wondering if they make the dresses with such differences to the original, or was that at your request?

Torilynn,

I know that Vera Wang has a collection at Davids' Bridal now, but it is NOT the same quality and cut when you compare to her couture collection.  However, it is pretty good for a $1400 Vera Wang dress.  Not to mention, there are tons and tons of brides wearing the same dresses.....I prefer something more unique.

As for the $99 dress, usually they are on sale at $99, and regular price at $399 plus alter fees.  Therefore, technically..you can't get a fitted dress at David's for $99.

I agree with Mocha, in general, if you tried on the original and expect the same, u will probably be disappointed.

Do it!!! Make the plunge!!!! hahaha :) I know there are a lot of anxieties that come with this option but just be really specific (and really nice to the rep so she will work with you if anything goes wrong) and you will get what you want.

Here's that link Joanne: http://www.dhgate.com/product/productdisplay.do?pid=ff8080812fd96705012fea768f1f33b7

Good luck!

Hi ladies!

I ordered my dress from Fabulous U (fushopping.com) after a recommendation from one of FMIL's co-workers.  I think I looked at EVERY picture on their Facebook page before deciding to use them, but they came highly recommended from FMIL's co-worker.

I don't have the dress yet, but I'm SO excited!!!  Their attention to detail is amazing, and they are making my dress completely customized to me and my size for only $20 on top of the sale price :)  I was even able to customize the colour of the embroidery (another big reason why I chose custom over in-store).

For anyone considering ordering a "knock-off", these guys might be worth a look too!  :D

Here's the dress I ordered:

And here's the change I want made in bright fuschia:

I can't wait!!  :D  It should be ready soon, and I hope it's REALLY soon because I'm getting antsy!  I want to see my dress already dammit!  lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
