Post all "Knock Off Wedding Dress" questions/comments here

Recommended Posts

Alright, ladies, I've been lurking for months. I've been waiting to get engaged. Still not official yet, but he has bought the dress, so I'm unofficially looking at dresses. :)

I fell in love with this dress based on pictures. This is my second wedding, so I'm on a super tight budget, and I'd never pay $8000 for a dress anyways, so I'm looking to go the knock-off route. I know someone on here has had a designer make this dress. My concern is the fabric. I want it to be the light, airy feel, but I'm wondering if they can do that.

Here are some pics: (Sorry for so many, I'm a wee bit obsessed)

after following this page since december, i decided to send pictures to LANDYbridal in hopes she could recreate my dress. I recieved it in the mail today, and to my suprise I AM IN LOVE! i was so nervous that it just couldnt be done! The only negative thing i have to say is she did not email me proofs OR email me before she sent the dress. below are the original and then the landy version! (will post with more pics)

Mocha, any news on your dress? Did you track it? I received my tracking number form Babyonline today, without them sending me any pictures of my dress, as promised. The tracking number seems real, so I just hope for the best.

Manni - it is somewhere in Canada. Hopefully it will arrive at my office today. Since Babyonline screwed up and sent it to the wrong address, I had to contact the courier company and request to have it redirected. The courier company didn't do this and it was signed for at the old address. So now that person is forwarding it to me. I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst, but right now I'm worried I will have to wear a dress that either doesn't fit or looks horrible.

Oh Mocha, I feel so awful for you... You are in my thoughts and prayers that everything goes right and that dress fits you like it was meant to be a second skin.

I hope everything else in your planning is going smoothly, because this is such a bummer =(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
