Ladies,

Congrats on your weddings! I'm getting married this coming May on the beach in Dominican Republic. I wanted a dress that would work on the beach and wouldn't be to heavy. I purchased the Ella 5487 from a local Bridal store near me ( I live in PA ). It was the first dress that I tried on and I knew right away that it was "the one".  I saw that you were wondering how much the orginal desinger dress is. I paid $1250 for the dress and couldn't be happer. I didn't even know people make knock offs of this and other wedding dresses. After reading the reviews on wedddingdress.com it seems like they make nice dresses to fit your exact measurements and budgets. I recommened the Ella 5487 dress. It's even more beautiful in person!  Good luck everyone. If anyone has any questions you can email me at ace8284@aol.com

I got my dress from Topspartner today and Its perfect!!! well it fits perfectly, the dress is amazing exactly what I asked for,, the lace it fabulous and the tulle is soft and flowy and exactly what I asked for! I needed a friend to come help get me into it as it has a corset back and she was sooo amazed this came from someone i have never even seen in person! I have to say I am truly amazed a the quality of this dress.

I decided to go with a simpler lace and i'm glad I did.. its so flowy and etherial (sp?) I ordered it without beading and its fabulous with out the beads but I think i am going to add some just along the neckline and the hem and then sprinkles throughout the dress, just a bit to add a little sparkle but not too much. Kinda like,,, did that just sparkle or was i imagining it?

The only thing I don't like is that the boning ends at the waist, and there are some light yellow stains on some of the lace panels, but they are pretty minor  and probably not noticable, and I think even if they don't come out i can live with it, Im trashing it after the wedding anyway!

ok --- i posted earlier saying my dress was a mess. so i took it to a seamstress and she is helping to fix it with me. i have my first of many fittings with her yesterday and i am having super mixed emotions......

first let me show you the dress (please ignore my funny looking face i was talking..and the part of my butt that u can kinda see in the lace up-ha!)

IMG_2533.JPGIMG_2532.JPG

IMG_2531.JPG

so i love the back. im concerned because the seamstress wants to remove the privacy panel (which i LOVE the idea of doing this!!) but  i'm concerned because i NEED to wear a bra. the seamstress is thinking she'll be able to get my dress to fit me perfect and i won't need one--but i'm a D and i'm really not comfy going without a bra. so---backless bra suggestions needed!!!!! she will obviously sew up the back so my booty isn't showing.

My concerns with the front of the dress-

Untitled.jpg

1) the entire top just feels super "boxy". I'm a thin person with a super lean waist--and this dress just doesn't do my figure justice yet!! now--I know this is the first of many fittings--but i'm wondering if maybe i can have the boning and built in bra/corsette thing removed? it just doesn't feel like it is snugging my figure enough.

2) i need your opinions on this. i feel like the torso is too long? maybe its just because it doesn't fit me yet...but this part just seems "fluffy"? like it isn't laying flat? i hate that. is looks that way in the back too a bit....but it bothers me more in the front.

3)this stupid neckline is driving me insane. i want CLEAVAGE!! my boobs are one of my best assets and i want to show them off. i asked the seamstress about doing a deeper sweetheart neckline and she is concerned because of the beading. honestly--i don't give a crap if the beading gets removed--i really want some bood showing!! what do you guys think? i just don't feel sexy in this dress yet.

keep in mind...the seamstress hasn't cut anything yet. she has taken it in-but has just hid it inside the dress until we get it fitting a bit more...so that may add to the boxy-ness of the torso--but still. and she it taking it in about 1/2 inch more on top and the sides.

uuuggggh i just want to feel beautiful and i don't just yet and it hurts my heart...

magirl that came out beautifully!  congratss!    I am looking into a dress with a similar flow for the skirt, so now I know who to go to for that detail.  I am very impressed!

I know what you mean when you say you want to feel beautiful in your dress. I loved my dress -- on my sister in law, but i didn't love it in me! :( I don't know what to do... I'm a little overweight and I'm hopping that after losing a few pounds the dress will look better, but I'm actually thinking about selling mine and ordering a new one... don't know what to do...

About your dress, I think you have to chose between showing your back or showing your boobs, showing both may be too much, specially because you will be worrying about your bra, or lack of it and won't be abble to dance and have fun as much as you should. I would go with the open back, that goes really sexy next to your tattoo... even though you want to change the cleavege I think this is the most beautiful part of your dress, looks very well done... good luck on that!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
