Hi Kate!

I´m in the exact same boat! I am still in the process of losing weight, so I´m not sure if I should wait a few months to order, or reduce the measurements a bit... did you decide what to do?

and I know that I will lose the weight, I´ve just added it over the last year from the stress/adjustment of moving to a new country. I´m about 1-2 sizes bigger than my true normal.

I thought maybe I´d just order one at my current size, and then just have it taken in, but I´m worried about how MUCH they will have to take it in! hahah will it still look like the same dress?

Let me know what you decide... my wedding is in September, so I think my deadline to get something ordered will be June 1.

i just got my dress last night from inweddingdress.com and want to cry.....

its not that they did anything horrible. the dress itself is *good*....there is some pulling around the hem but thats fine. i knew it wouldn't be exact so thats OK.

BUT--and  huge BUT....

its not even close to fitting. at all. i pretty much need to take it somewhere and have them completely redo the bodice and add legnth to it.

i'm 5'10" and a size 4/6 but a large C bust/small D. when i tried on dresses....I needed a size 8 to fit my bust (and that BARELY did)...but all the dresses i tried on needed at least 3-4 inches taken in in the waist. fine. i knew i would need alterations to take in any dress i ordered.

so i ordered a size 8 for my inweddingdress.com dress. i didnt want to get it custom made because i wanted to option to return it if i got here and it was horrid.

umm.....this thing won't even stay up it is so large on top. its comical. seriously--i would need to be 40 pounds heavier for this thing to fit me. i don't know who in the world they are basing their size 8 from it isn't anyone from the planet earth thats for sure. and its AT LEAST 2 inches too short!!!!!!! the measurements for the hollow to hem length for the size 8 should have been 2 inches TO LONG for me based on my measurments. now its just stupid looking.

im seeing a seamstress to see if there is anyway to salvage this thing and not spend a bagillion dollars....but seriously. i'm sad.

So sorry to hear about your sizing issues.  Can you post up some pics?  Do you have time to have them refund/remake your dress?  If you ordered a stock size then maybe send it back get your refund and go with your custom measures.  I would try that before I have a seamstress alter it.  Too short could be an issue for any accomplished seamstress to adjust.

I like it buts it a bit much for me, I like lace and minimal beading, and I need a long long long poofy dress. As bad as it is, I even like the Gypsy style trains/veil trains... Lol

I really hope you get your dress on time. I'm so sad to hear that Babyonline couldn't deliver your dress in their promised date. I hope you do get yours. I'm going this weekend to my house just to try my dress. I'm so excited. Good luck on your (eternal) waiting.

Before I ordered my dress at the beginning of February I asked Babyonline if they would be able to complete it especially considering the New Year holiday. She told me it would only take 10 days to make and it would arrive well before March 20. Of course, last week when they posted the shipping notice, they advised me that it would not be done until March 20, but they would ship immediately. Today she informs me that it is still not done. Even if it arrives before my wedding, it has to fit perfectly, I will have no time for any alterations. I won't even be able to get the hem shortened!

So for those considering an order, I would suggest ordering at least 4 months before your wedding.

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to the site and i'm so happy i came across this forum! I'm going to try dresses on for the first time at Kleinfelds in a few weeks and i'm so nervous that i wont find anything within my budget. I must say, I am totally leaning toward knocking off now! Below is the dress of my dreams (Amsale Blue Label) and I'm going to do some research to see which dressmaker will execute it the best. I'm leaning towards Landy or Babyonline. Let me know what you guys think!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
