GwenJen, I originally wanted a lace dress so I had looked around for some nice lace patterns.  I'm not sure about the other sellers, but when I asked Duosheng for a quote, they immediately told me that the lace from the picture was different from what they had.  They sent me about 5 pictures of different lace patterns they had, which were very nice.  I still had some doubts though, and told them how would they be able to match the dress style.  They explained to me how they would do it and which lace patterns matched best.  I liked their honesty.  I haven't heard about any other seller doing that, but if you ask they might be able to do show you what they have as well.

Hello Ladies!

I am a new member, and probably just as mean (If not meaner) as Miss PrettyPigPig. I am picky. Oh so very very picky. Which leads me to my problem.

I. Hate. Strapless. Wedding. Gowns. I don't know where this unbridled fury for the strapless following comes from, but I wish all strapless dresses to be doused with gasoline and burned. Not that there is a problem if you choose one, I just think they are hideous. Personal taste is a funny thing I guess, because right now, my taste is leading me on an endless goose chase. Finding a dress with any semblence of sleeves for under 1500 is like trying to find a filet mignon in a vegan colony.

After searching on google images after a disastrous fitting at David's ("You want what? That's so... Traditional! How about we give you a lace bolero for 150 more? No? We can make you cap sleeves for 450? Still No? Long sleeves you say? Well, then try on these strapless dresses we know you don't like while we convince you the price tag is worth it and you will wake up and love it and ride away on a unicorn." ) I fell in love with Justin Alexander's 9552 Signature Collection, shown here > http://www.peridress.com/catalog/Justin-Alexander-Wedding-Dress-Style-9552-p-35782.html < On Peridress.

I do not want this dress FROM Peridress, they have not proved that they can do this amount of beading and lace work. My question is, where would the best place to get this as a knock-off, with a longer train be? I know I won't get that exact dress, and I am totally fine, but some of the lace samples I have seen have been abysmal. Anyone have a dress done in lace an have pics? Thank you!

All my best wishes and bridal dreams

-Court

I love that dress Court, I want a long sleeve cover up like that too for my dress.  It is a strapless.  Yes, I understand completely what you mean.  I reeeeeeeally hated strapless dresses too.  I always thought they were the dumbest thing ever and would pray that they would go out of style very soon.  It just doesnt make sense to me that a beautiful dress would be so detailed everywhere but then have a simple top that looked average.  Anyway, I ended up falling in love with a strapless anyway because I know I can add a jacket over it for the ceremony and another one for the reception which makes it easier to change your look as well.  My problem now is that I'm looking for a jacket just like the one it that dress but I can't even find that! Are you going to get it removable or have it attached? I'm sure you can ask around different sellers for samples of their lace fabric, just like my last post said, I got pictures from Duosheng of some of the lace designs they have which matched the dress I had asked for.  But if you don't want to use Duosheng, which I didnt, then you may be able to get other sellers to send you some info.  I would suggest that you contact the sellers and let them know what you like, ask for some samples of their lace, and be nice about what it is that you're looking for.  I'm sure if you contact them with questions and concerns they will answer you. Dont feel like you have to contact them with purchases only.

Wow Court - that dress is very detailed. It's beautiful. It's your wedding and you can have whatever you want. I think your choice is beautiful. Good luck. When choosing a dress maker be sure to allow plenty of time for delays. Join DHGate and you are able to send pictures and communications with multiple sellers.

Thank you. I have to try on something similar on before I make up my mind completely, and that dress is only available to try on 4 hours away in Iowa. I am from Northern IN. msncry.gif

Wow, Court! That is so pretty! I love how it is like two completly different dresses with the coat!

I got my dress today! Finally! DHL shipping was so fast. I tracked it from the time it was given to them until it got to my house today and it was only like 4 days! I am going to give a huge recomindation to the lady who did mine. Here are the pros:

1.  She was very accomidating. She told me whatever I wanted changed she would do-for no more money.

2.  She always communicated quickly. I got emails from her within hours of my questions.

3.  The price was more than fair. I paid $100 with shipping and other sites and stores that I've found my dress were priced a lot more. The cheapest was $400 and the most was over $700 (not including china sites).

4.  The end result was exactly what I wanted. I got the lace up back and all. The dress looks exactly like the pictures! And the flowers on the top are actually stitched on, not glued on like I feared they may be.

5.  The packaging was wonderful! Two shipping bags and then another tote type bag and then the dress was inside of a clear plastic bag.

The only con I can think of is that when she said it had shipped with EMS I couldn't find any info on the tracking number. It was two more weeks before shipping was changed to DHL. I can't say if this was her fault or EMS. Either way, this dress was worth the wait! I went to dhgate.com and used free-trade-zone. I'm going to order from her again for any type of formal wear I need.

I'll have to post pics soon. My sister is coming over on Sunday and I'll have to get her to take them. The dress is 2 inches too big in every way but I ordered it that way because I tend to flux on weight, 5-10 pounds every so often. I've been dropping weight recently so I guess I could've ordered my exact measurements for then and been fine but I didn't want to take a chance! I am adding a couple of close ups that I took at home but they aren't very good pics....took them with my phone. Oh, and the wrinkles are almost nill! I hope everyone else loves their dress as much as I do!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
