you could try having a seamstress add a little bunch of stiff tulle under each ruffle that you want to "pop", way up at the seam, just so the ruffle is laying on something stiff so they can't lay flat against each other (I'm thinking like a strip of stiff tulle bunched together to form like a thin piece, like a pencil sort of I guess right up at the seam if that makes sense)

It is really pretty, missing beads in the skirt don't really bother me, they are easy enough to add. The problem is my tatas, they wont behave. It really is a bit obsene, which is why I didn't post pics of me in it!. The poor dress! Lmao.

I know it will work well for someone more proportioned than myself. It really is pretty though, I'm very dissapointed.

prettypigpig- Thanks, I'll just have to figure out what I want, silk or lace.  And lately I've been looking at tulle! aah, I'm so indecisive.

mochamakes3 - I know you want to change it, but I acutally love the way it looks! Keep in mind that while you're wearing it and walking, I'm sure the ruffles will be moving so it looks like it will have a very nice flow.  If you want them to stand up a bit more, I would take it to the dry cleaners and ask them what can be done.  Maybe some steam? I don't know, but it seems like the only thing that will really get them looking fluffy is some more fabric.

magirl - your dress is beautiful! They did a great job! It encourages me to order one from them too now.  Sucks that they didn't understand you wanted to beading on the skirt too, but I think it looks great without them.  Hopefully you can make it work!

Your dress turned out beautiful!  I love it.  It's very feminine and flowy and girly.  If I didn't have three already, I'd consider buying it.  What's the size?  I am thinking about selling my ruffled dress again, so one never knows.  I am so bad, there is no controlling me when it comes to dresses.

I agree about the stiff tulle but you may want to see what one of those slips.....i am drawing a blank....... will do under the dress. You just need a little fluff to give the ruffles that flowing/fluffy look .  I hope i am making sense.  I just remember dress shopping with my sister and we added a slip underneath and it totally changed the look of the dress. Try that before adding to the actual dress.

I too am top heavy. make sure when you try it on that you are wearing the BEST undergarment support that you can! also, since it has tulle straps, you can try having your seamstress add more tulle to your undergarments to give you more support before you even put the dress on. When I was looking @ this dress on your original post I though "wow, I LOVE that dress... but would my boobs fit?" ;)

Quality seems good, the beading is beautiful!, However I told her there were beads spread throughout the skirt that you can't see in the pictures and she assured me they knew about them, This could have been a misunderstanding though so now the skirt is plain tulle, as well as the tulle covering the bodice. Only the shoulders waist and middle bodice have beading. Its still very pretty though.

Second, It doesnt look so good on me,, i'm a little top heavy and i'm busting out of this,, the boning can't take it. :(  This is not Monica Bridal's fault though, I knew it was a possibility when I ordered it, but for 150 bucks it was worth the risk to me. Perhaps someone else can use it...I will take pics soon...

Also, I just ordered a dress from Monica bridal, i'm hoping since its very simple it will be quite similar.  I think I might use this as a TTD but not sure...

Which might be a time thing but sounds more like they just think the dress is too complicated and don't want to make it anymore. It is disappointing since I already told them that it is fine that the pleats are different, fine that the flowers are different, fine that the lace is different. I just want is the top to have a waistband, all be pleated, and not to go down as far. They are obviously capable of pleating well, can probably add a waistband without trouble (well it seems simple to me, a complete non-sewer ) and I gave them the exact measurements for how long the bodice should go down. I didn't think I was being suuuuper picky and difficult, but I maybe I am. Well, if they say that they can't do it, I should just trust that they can't since they know their abilities best, but who can I ask to make it now?

Jeff Lui wants $216 for it, which is fine, but can't show me any photos of his lace or appliques. Topspartner will take too long now, probably even if I do rush service with the holiday coming up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
