OK girls...(now I understand why on earth there are all those stupid msgs before Family Guy and other TV shows..and waste a good 15 sec from us each time)  maybe soon, someone on this thread can also explain to me why we have all these warning tags on the hair dryer, press iron ...like don't dry ur hair when u are in a tub, or don't iron the shirt on ur body...hmmm

WARNING: Some readers may find the following msg offensive and disturbing, Readers' discretion is advised.

To see some of the previous dresses...from Topspartner and Duosheng

For Monica Bridal and Babyonline, you can find pics on this thread.

OK..since not everyone would go back to the previous pages of this thread...there are my advices who brides going down to this route of ordering a dress online.

1) If you already tried on the orginal dress, and want an exact copy.  JUST BUY the original, and save that $200 and disappointment.

2) Don't take the measurement all by yourself!

3) Always have a plan B in case the dress came out....horrible

4) Go visit local shops and try on as many dresses as possible, and have an idea on what fits u, what doesn't fit u.  You don't wanna look like a dead seal or burrito on the beach.

5) Unless you are 6 ft tall and size 0, don't expect u will look like the model in the pic

6) communicate with the rep/dressmaker, ask all the questions, tell her all ur expectations, worries and requirements BEFORE placing your order.

7) Don't be overly direct / mean/ sounds demanding toward the rep of the dressmaker, they are like the CEO's assistant, DON'T RUB them too hard, BE SWEET. I can be very mean and nasty, but ask the Monica Bridal's rep, she will tell you I am the sweetest client EVER!

8) Be true to your size.  Don't reduce the size by 2 inches because you think you will LOSE it before the wedding!  I know..I know...this can sound very mean, but it is very hard to change a habit, and loss 2 inches....and yes..and keep it at that level after.  By the way, the man who gave u a ring accepted the way you are (or gave up his hopes), so don't UNDERSTATE your size.

9) If you are size 14 and up, please let the dressmaker know, and also be aware that dressmaker NEVER seen someone that big in his or her life, so...they may not get the proportion right.

10) Always do all your homework before ordering!

I'm offended when someone gives me the finger, drives in the outside lane, cuts in line at the grocery store, stands too close to me in a bank line, etc etc...I am not offended when someone expresses an opinion in an open and public forum about the cost of one clothing item.  Keep in mind Msjulie this is a thread about Knock Off Dresses and the particular poster you are offended for or felt the need to defend, was advertising a 6,000 dollar dress in the same forum.   It was about the dollars, nothing more.  Prettypig did explain herself and I believe somewhat apologyzed if she offended you a posts back.  Let's get back to the subject at hand...Cheap ol knockoff wedding dress...

Ginger,

I worked on the trading desk..oh yes..I am a vampire squid (dunno why americans came up with this term after 2008...weird!)! Trust me..F words, fingers..O M F words...A words...B words are nothing!  I ate them like ABC in my Campell soup without a burp.  Actually, I find myself pretty considerated on this forum (yeap yeap I mean it), you can imagine me in real life. mouhahaha...oh well, my FI said behind every successful man, there is a dumb chick.  Behind every b**ch, there is a nice and easy going guy like him.

Like I said before...dresses are like men, there are always better one out there, but u have to settle down and pick one!   Beauty of a $350 or less dress is...we can have more than one! LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
