Great choice! Can't wait to see how it all turns out! I'm going shopping again Tuesday with my mom and BFF to try and find "THE" Dress, then I can order mine :)

magirl, is it possible for you to buy the lace in the US and send it to them? You could negotiate a cheaper price seeing as you are providing one of the main components. That way you know what you are getting (the lace really 'makes' the dress if you know what I mean). I am not sure they would be able to provide you with very similar to that on the dress.

The vendors should be able to tell you how much lace you would need to purchase =)

I am not near any great fabric places, i'd have to drive down to NY and that would cost me more than the dress with hotel costs.. soooo nah.

Ginger your dress is lovely! I can't pull off spagetti straps which is why i'm having them change the dress. That way all my flab is covered! lol

Brusselbride,

ALWAYS TRY ON DRESS BEFORE ORDER ONE! Unless you are 6 ft tall, and size 0, then u can rely on the model pic.

Cookay,

my reception dress is made by Monica Bridal, and it was a huge bow at the front..you can check it out.  My bestfriend's dress has a bow sash made by babyonline..so u also check it.

Gracimurano,

It is an extension version of my own dress, thick satin underneath with 2 tulle overlays + lace appliques on the tulle layers.  I specially designed for her to hide her tires and elephant legs.

Magirl,

I think on their website, u can see the dress they made...so u can have an idea.

CamilleA, there is another thread for brides to sell their leftovers on this forum.

That's really rude to say about someone else's dress. You could have just pointed her in the right direction without slamming her dress choice.

JPenny,

Sorry that I was a bit bold.  I am not slamming on the choice of the dress.  I am more shocked on the price of the dress.  I am sure it is nice fabric and quality, but still I just find it a bit excessive given the current situation of the economy which millions of houses are getting foreclosed, and so many unemployed people  (and yes, I am always perplexed on how the US economy reaches this point, deep in debts everyone and everywhere) .  $6800 is a few months of mortgage, and maybe the whole wedding for some brides on a limited budget.  Ladies, I know the dress is very important, and everyone wants to look their best on the day, but Life continues after wedding.

Oh I think we all know Miss Pretty Pig did not mean her comments as an insult. I'm sure it was all about the price tag associated with the dress. Let's not forget this is a Knockoff thread where we spend on average 200 dollars. And by the way, how many times have we all joked on this thread about our "big poofie dresses". I'll be the first to say that mine looks like a lace doily or a tablecloth but I love it just the same. I mean c'mon really ladies, we dress up in these big white dresses, adorn our heads with tiaras, flowers, veils, jewels etc etc, and what? expect that we can't poke fun at ourselves and each other. None of us are queens, or princesses. Except for me that is...lol We need to have a sense of humor. That's all. I for one love snarky comments. I add them to my data base and use them at a later date. hehehe.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
