Hahaaha! I envisioned you with fish and turtles caught in your tulle cathedral train!! You could grill them and have them as snacks!! LOLsmile105.gif

I haven´t organized anything for my home dinner party yet.  It seems to me that you´ve got everything under control. Things for me are a bit on the still side. Not much moving, At the beginning I was going nuts but right now I´m a bit more relaxed. I have given my down payment, but Lots of the people who said were coming haven´t booked so I have to wait....

TSBride,

Girl, you should never try on a dress that is way above your price range. This is a big no no.  Romona is like Vera Wang, it is not a Maggie or Angelo, it is super luxe to touch and wear.

Usually, you can get it as a sample or 2nd hand at  50% of the original tag price.

Ok, from what I see, the original dress is made with silk taffeta.  Therefore, a replica will not have the same texture, shine, feel and weight than the original dress. Silk is lighter, the shine is more subtle, and it is smoother than the synthetic fabric.

it is not hard to replicate, but it will look and feel different.  If you are mentally prepared, you can try to contact Monica Bridal or Babyonline to get a quote.  Monica Bridal has silk fabric upon request (at a premium cost).

I agree with Prettypig,

If you are willing to spend a couple hundred dollars and be ok with losing it IF you don't like the way the dress comes out then by all means I say go for it.  You might end up liking it just fine and then you got a fabulous deal!  As she said, the dress won't have quite the same drape or "feel" on your skin.  And odds are the color won't be the same either.  But if you think you would like a dress that has a lot of fabric with the drapey folds and something that looks "inspired by" rather than "just like" then you could end up a very happy bride.

Just don't have unrealistic expectations...honestly, I think the brides that are really unhappy with there chinese knockoffs are the ones that were expecting a replica for pennies on the dollar, that is too good to be true.  You can however get something with a similar vibe for an amazing deal if you are open minded about it! :)

I ordered from MonicaBridal, dress should be here next week!

Let us know what you decide!!!

Just wanted to update, back from our wedding and it was fabulous!!! Best day ever!

I have to say, one of the parts of my day that made me smile was the amount of compliments that I received on my dress.....best $130 I ever spent :) The people that I told couldn't believe I was serious when I told them how little it cost!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
