Yeap, since I ordered another dress from them, I was on chat with the rep last night.  Apparently, only those from this forum are having size issues, so from now on, they will take pics with a ruler so they can prove they make it according to the size provided by the buyers.  Since no one of us wants to pay $200 to alter, and they don't want to sell dresses at a 50% discount, I think this pics with measurements can be a solution (even I didn't really got this problem with my dresses).

I am really sad that it doesn't fit properly but I am pleased with the quality. However, I would be more understanding if there was a slight difference in the overall fit instead of such a huge difference. Even she admits that there must be a discrepancy somewhere.  I have raised a dispute because I am unhappy. We'll see how it can be resolved. I may take it to a seamstress this weekend for a quote to alter.

I just ordered my dress with Monica Bridal today via DHGate.  Communication has been great, super prompt emails via DHGate and I am anal and end up logging on to chat to make sure she has no questions :)  Can't wait for the dress to come, hopefully it turns out great...figure it is worth a try for $120 shipped! :) :) my wedding dress.jpg

beautiful! I'm interested to hear how it all turns out. I'm still hesitant to jump into the knock off sphere

I'd like to put my two cents worth up here too.  I ordered my knock off from Monica Bridal as well and it did come two large. Same thing corset enclosure was completely closed and I still have too much room and it's a bit too long.  However, I think I was part of the problem.  When I ordered my dress I ordered it with a zipper and added 3/4 to my overall measurements, thinking I wanted to room just in case.  Last minute I switched to corset enclosure but did not reduce my measurements.  I should have given my true measurements at this point.  The other issue is that I've been working out harder and have lost a couple pounds during the 4-5 weeks from the time I ordered my dress until I received it.  I don't think we should be measuring ourselves.  I agree with PrettyPig, how I could ever go back and ask for a 50% discount on an already bargain basement price is beyond me.  I could not and would not.  Especially since I could take it and sell it for at least what i paid or more.  The cost of the fabric alone in Canada would be at least 140 dollars.  That's just morally wrong in my view but hey that's just me.

LOL! Nan, it is funny as long as we are not those balding male guests with a buddha belly, who were trying to endure the whole 30-45 min of blah blah blah...

Ginger,

WORDS!

Nan,

I think the most funny thing was the bride was so into the moment and touched by those emotional words, even her bum bum was probably sweating..but she didn't care.  Meanwhile, the guests who weren't that emotionally moved by the blah blah blah...were just grilling like lobsters, starrrrring at those cold Mojitos, Margarita, Dirty Monkey, Miami Vice..etc served on the beach and at those lucky people who were dipping in the water! hahahaha

Gorgeous!!  Can't wait to see pics.  I am definitely planning on going the knock off route for my TTD.  This one is beautiful.

I do have a bridal shop but I am also a bride who is planning my destination wedding in February just like everyone else on here and I am not here to solicit any services, just offer my opinion and from a perspective most people cant offer,  and that is my blunt opinion and I have seen an awful lot of crappy knock offs come my way.  I definately have seen some that are ok too, but overall I think its worth the money to buy a low end designer dress than a bad version of an expensive dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
