Post all "Knock Off Wedding Dress" questions/comments here

I received the photo of my dress from Monica Bridal.  They only sent a photo of the front which makes me a little nervous; I requested a pic of the back which hopefully I'll receive soon.  I asked for a different neckline so you'll notice it is different than the inspiration dress.  The only other difference I see is the way the skirt is gathered, but I don't think I necessarily like it less than the inspiration dress.  What do you ladies think?  Any changes that you would suggest?  Thanks!!!!

P.S.  Why does their workshop look like the house of a hoarder?!  Lol

Thanks for all of the insight regarding boning, everyone! Like many of you have said, it is worth ordering the dress and if it doesn't turn out quite like I hope it will be perfect for Trash the Dress!

Does anyone know if you can pay more for higher quality fabric? My dress is french taffetta and I would love to have something similar.

Karen that dress looks great!!!

LOL... as long as our dresses arrive clean and without mysterious smells I don't care what their warehouse looks like!

mine was nicely packed and sealed with the veil in a different package.  no smell (except the plastic smell) and no dust. Surprisingly..not too wrinkly as well.  Now it has cat hairs on its train, because my cats love to zzz on the tulle so much.  Every time I try my dress on, my cats will come...running!  I probably will have to clean it before wearing it for my big day.

yeap, you are totally right!  I paid $400 for mine, because I asked for silk lining, nice lace and excessive beadings and tons of tulles.  However, for around $200, they can make a nice dress for TTD or cocktail/reception.

hahaha..Karen, don't Fabreeze ur dress, so far Lisa is the only one who notice there is some smell.  I only smelled the plastic bags. You can hang your dress in your bathroom during shower time to "un-wrinkle" it, and put lavender papers to "fabreeze" it.  Get a bridal dress bag to house your dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
