So after reading this thread I'm heading to a Bridal shop today to try on some dresses. I'm really thinking about having Gianinar make me a dress but I'm wondering if my wedding date is too close. Has anyone who has ordered from Gianinar gotten a dress in 30 days?

My wedding isn't until July 30th in Aruba, and I actually have a dress but I found some Maggie dresses that I LOVE and now want to have a replia made. I just have to try some on to see what looks best on me.

What is the average price you guys are paying for Gianinar to make you a dress?

Morning ladies!

WretchedDeviant, my thoughts are, it's your wedding, so I think you should do what makes you happy! The dress will be stunning, the locations you are thinking about sound fantastic. Wear what you have always dreamed about. Make your day the most amazing day ever. It doesn't sound like you are being unrealistic at all. You have found the dress you have always dreamed about and we have the means now to re-create it for a fraction of the cost. I say Go for it!

A J Mitchell: I was quoted $120 for the dress and $59 for shipping (I am in Canada). The dress from ebay (different producer, but still from China) was $150 incl shipping.

Hope this helps

I ordered mine back in late Oct/early Nov and am pretty sure it was right at a month when I got proof pictures. Shipping only took 5 days as well. I paid $120 for the dress and $60 for shipping. I think that's a pretty standard price from gianinarbridal if you choose the "lower" quality material.

WretchedDeviant thanks for the info on the material. My real dress is POB which I shelled out the $5000 for but for my TTD I wanted my second runner up dress without shelling out the $4000 for that one. I think from the pics that I have seen the quality will be just fine for my TTD. I am not worried about it being breathable because after all I will only be wearing it for about 3 hours. I think you should get the dress you want. The Tornai is beautiful....not my style but a very gorgeous dress and definitely fairy-like! I think you should do what makes you happy. Its your day to live your dream...I say go for it! I tried on several dresses and I know that the two dresses I have chosen (real POB for wedding day and fake POB for TTD) fit me excellently. I'm just so happy cause now I am excited to see both dresses! My gianinar is $150 hope that helps anyone that was querying the prices.

A J: You could always ask them if you could pay extra for a rush I have no idea if they do that or not though. And Gianinar quotes me $150 (including shipping) for mine, it costs a little more than the one on their bid but I also asked them for a custom one and didn't notice the bid, but it doesn't bother me either way, they'll have to do a little more work with what I was wanting (mostly the flowers and ruching on the train, which they didn't do with the bid one), I think the average for most people from them is $150 to $180. I hope you can get yours in time I really have no idea how quickly they could do it.

And thanks everyone for the input it's kind of my stand point, too. It's my day so why should anyone say differently but it is nice to sometimes get opinions on maybe I could do this or that to make it a little better or give the feel I want. I actually dislike a lot of Tornai's other dresses, almost like she puts lingerie and throws a poofy skirt at the bottom of it and a lot of her dresses just aren't what a non celebrity would wear for their wedding.

Just got back from the Bridal shop and found THE dress.. Too bad I can't find it online ANYWHERE.. any brides out there heard of "Rand Evan"? The dress I found is called "Candice" and I can't find it anywhere online! I want to get a "knock off" of this made but can't find pics anywhere.

I found this site which carries his gowns but they don't have names on them. Maybe you will see the dress you were looking for in one of the pictures though. Godd luck.

Oh no. Does the store you saw the dress in have a website? maybe its posted on there. Or maybe you could call the Alan Evans store and ask. Say you saw the dress but don't see it on their website, is it still available. Is there somewhere you can see the dress online. Maybe they can direct you (just don't tell them you are looking for it to make a knock off, lol). Or could you go back to the store with someone and have them take pictures while you try the dress on?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
