I tried to use pictures that showed the dress in all different kinds of lighting so you can get an idea of what the material is like. Sometimes it's a bit shiny, sometimes not. I'm really happy I didn't spend the extra money because i'm not sure how the silk taffeta could have been better. My biggest concern was that it would be like davids bridal dresses and be really loud with a tent/sleeping bag texture but it wasn't at all. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much! You have made me feel much more relaxed :)

Well, I know I have been posting like every 10 days or so with my count down, but today is day 45! So I guess now all I have to do is wait. I'm am so incredibly bored right now, and all the initial excitement is gone and I need things to occupy my time. Getting my proof pics would be a plus, but I've heard some girls say that it took way longer than the 30-45 days. Grrr. I gave then a much earlier date than my wedding, so I hope it comes in soon. I'm afraid to email them because then they might rush. What do you all think?

I was afraid of the rush as well, just wait a few more days and you can ask for an update. I received mine 70 days later and it was sent out I believe 5 days before that, but she did give me an update and said my dress wasn't finished yet. I know how anxious you can get waiting for your dress.

That's not always true. I asked them to send the tracking number of my dress, and I haven't received a reply since last Thursday (!!).
Girls, did gianinar provide you with tracking numbers when sending your dresses?

You know, I don't remember if they sent one or not. I'm thinking they did not because I seem to remember being surprised it arrived as quickly as it did after they notified me it was mailed.

I can't really comment on why you haven't received a reply but I know that they were ALWAYS very prompt in replying to my emails. I feel like maybe I ordered my dress at a slower time of year though. Sorry you're not getting the communication you want/need!

I didn't receive a tracking # either or proof pics, I guess because I picked one from her ebay catalog. The last email that I received was on April 1st stating that the dress would be finished in 5-7 days and it would take 4-5day to ship. That would have been about 12 days and I received it on April 26th, I''m guessing it takes a lot of time because this is Wedding Season and they make dresses for bridal stores as well.

Ok so I think I have switched teams to Gianinar. I got a little suspicious since Gianinar told me that they couldn't make my dress in linen and lace cause linen is not readily available in China and would have to be imported (POB does have the exact same dress in satin and lace style 4506). So out of curiousity I wrote Duosheng to find out if in the best quality they would be using linen and lace and Wendy said they would try to match as close to linen as possible. I got very disappointed because at close to $500 I don't want to pay for something that isn't linen and lace. So I asked her what material it would be and she wasn't specific and said it would be close. When I asked her what material standard quality would be she told me it would be dress style 4506 satin and lace. Since Duosheng charges $297 for the satin and lace and Gianinarbridal $150 and many ladies seem satisfied with the quality of gianinar I am switching. What would have happened if I didn't ask about what material would have been used....wow, I would have ended up expecting one thing and got another. I kind of wanted the linen since it would have been easier to move in but the lace is just as nice. Here is a pic of it in satin and lace. Pam did you decide who you are going with?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
