I am wondering what materials were used on some of your dresses. The one from Gianinar is the Maggie Sottero Sasha dress which is made of taffeta. Mine is being made of poly taffeta as opposed to silk taffeta (I didn't want to spend the extra $250 to upgrade). I hope that I am making the right decision! Any thoughts?? Help! I am starting to feel a little stress!
i don't have any personal advice for you, but i am looking forward to hearing the answer to this question. that is the one reason i am a little hesitant about Duosheng, their fabric looks crazy and shiny. the dress i would really like is silk taffeta, and i really want to know if the poly taffeta is nice.

can we see the photos of your dresses?

good luck!

Hey girls, my dress from Gianinarbridal was the poly taffeta since I couldn't see spending the extra money for silk taffeta either. I had NO problems with the material and thought it was beautiful. My dress is in this thread somewhere but I thought i'd post picts anyway so nobody has to search.

I tried to use pictures that showed the dress in all different kinds of lighting so you can get an idea of what the material is like. Sometimes it's a bit shiny, sometimes not. I'm really happy I didn't spend the extra money because i'm not sure how the silk taffeta could have been better. My biggest concern was that it would be like davids bridal dresses and be really loud with a tent/sleeping bag texture but it wasn't at all. Hope this helps!

Luciel and KJT both your dresses are gorgeous! I really want to use gianinar but they finally responded today and told me they can't make my dress in linen and lace like it is originally they can only make a version of it in satin and lace. Don't know what to do. Duosheng can make it in linen and lace but it'll cost close to $500, more than I wanted to spend on a TTD. Decisions, decisions!

this is very helpful! i hadn't thought of the noise factor of the dress. i think i am leaning towards gianinar now. i would like to see pics of the silk taffeta though..the poly still looks a little shiny, but i know taffeta is pretty shiny to begin with. thanks for posting!

Gianinar has been fantastic to deal with. The longest I have waited for a reply has been about 12 hours. Really great correspondence.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
