I am trying to make a decision in regards to the photo packages that the Riu Vallarta offers. I was given a price list and they are charging $450 US for a CD of pictures which is quite steep for my budget; however, this is the most important day of our lives and we want to remember it therefore we are leaning this way. The 12 free pics and negatives that come with the package will hardly cover the pics with our guests and family and bridal party never mind individual pics with Cory and I. Anyways, for those ladies that have purchased the CD, did you pay before the pics were taken when you met with the wedding coordinator or afterwards? I want to be sure that the pics are what I want before shelling out $450 US dollars. Celina, you had mentioned that you were not happy at all with the photographer, that has me worried a bit as well. What would you suggest?

Our wedding was on a Saturday. We met with the photographer the following Tuesday in the hotel lobby. Mind you - the guy we met WAS NOT the guy who took the pics. We looked at the pics before purchasing and after going thru them all, DH just said here's the money we'll buy the cd. He gives you the CD without any copywrights or anything so you can distribute and print as you wish.

I STRONGLY Suggest that you tell the photographer beforehand what pictures you want. Depending on the time of day you might get into it with the sunset pictures that the photographer provides for the hotel as well. Have a list of pics you want ready and make sure your guests who you want in the pics know this as well. We had some guests wander off and I am missing some of them from our big group picture.

DH didn't want a rehearsal, but we did have a dinner. We had it at Fajita Republic in Nuevo Vallarta. We sent out separate invites because everyone who went down wasn't invited and the invites had menu choices on it. I created a seating chart and we got there early and had everyone's place cards set and the servers knew what went where. My MIL paid for it so I'm not sure what the total was. I may still have the menu.

GO WITH THE RIU FLOWERS!! Mine were stunning, as were Mel's. You won't regret it. I had them do our centerpieces, boutoneeres, bouquets and arch flowers. I was beyond pleased with them. I had both white and yellow cala's and white and yellow roses. All were goregous!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
