Meeting Guests In Lobby ??

Recommended Posts

So I originally wanted to meet our guests in the Lobby when they arrived, so we can greet them and give them their OOT bags. Last night we got the list of everyone's arrival and everyone is coming in at different times over the course of 4 days and at different times, is it rude not to meet them in the Lobby? If we do we arrive on Tues, Wed we have our meeting with WC and we have some guests coming in, we have 4 sets of groups coming in on Thurs from 10am to 11:30pm, 3 sets of groups coming in on Friday Sat is the wedding and Sunday is the TTD so we do will not get to enjoy the beach until Monday then. shots.gif

I will feel bad if people come in and don't know where to find us so the only idea I came up with if we did not meet them would be to give the OOT bags to the checkin and put a note in their OOT bag when they arrived and say we are at the pool etc come join us when you are settled. What are you thoughts?

Because you have people coming at so man different times, I really don't see a problem with getting the check in to hold the OOT bags up front until the guests arrive. then you can just put a little note in there like you said.

We will luck out because our guests will all be coming on the same flight either with us or the next day...so we will meet them in the lobby just because they will be altogether. But if I were you I wouldnt really want to hang out in the lobby all day and wait for groups to arrive...it is your vacation too after all!

We did not meet everyone per say... just happened that we looked at our watch and knew that we had the time coming back from the WC office. What we did was actually had small Jamaica bags..rum and goodies that came from a florist in Jamaica, and put hand written notes on them. Dependant on the day we wrote down with where we would be at the time of their possible arrival to the resort. This way they could meet up with us if they wanted along with our since most will not give that out incase they wanted to call and leave a message for us. We brought down the goodie bags each day to the desk and they passed them out when they checked in. I thought that it worked out great and some met us at the beach and some toured first and ran into us. This way you don't feel soooo scheduled, because you really are before the wedding with times for the WC and times for that..

I tried to do this, and I really wouldn't. We had guests coming in at all times and it really took away from my vacation. Instead we would have a set time and place to meet for dinner. That way they could get their feet under them at the resort and explore a little during the day, and we weren't help captive at one activity either. It worked out very nicely actually.

Did you hand out bags? If so did you give them to the front desk? If so what did they charge you.

I didn't really trust the front desk people, so I handed them out myself. I would take them to the dinner with me... otherwise if people ran into us at the pool I'd run to my room and grab them and bring them to them (my room was right by the pool).

Take the advice of everyone else here & DON'T DO IT!! It will ruin your vacation! Also, don't worry about everyone else's rooms, how they are doing, etc! Just have fun & do your thing - if others want to tag along than great, if not, that's great too! I completely regret having to split my time between everyone thinking I had to make sure everyone was having fun, and everything was alright. I really didn't take much time to just relax - boy do I wish I factored a honeymoon into the budget!!

I 100% agree with this. I spent so much time worrying about everyone else, and not having a good time. If I had it to do over again I would've said, hey I'm at the pool, come find me... and left it at that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
