Its Official!! I am going to be a Sandals Negril Bride

Recommended Posts

I am so excited - we made it official - we have booked Sandals Negril for our July 14, 2010 wedding. I know its early, but we got a great price and we didn't want to lose out on the sale, so we did it!! A few questions for any Sandals Negril brides - past or present - What time are you having your ceremony? I want to get some sunset pictures, but I don't want to have the ceremony in the hottest time of the day. Also, What room did you book? We have booked the honeymoon walkout beachfront - but after reading some reviews I am now worried that it might not be as private as we would like. I would love to get a riversuite or something higher, but we really don't want to spend that much money. Also, I'd love to see any pictures or ideas of what is to come, resort & wedding info. We are only having immediate family join us - so we are hoping for just a dinner at one of the restaurants, we don't want to pay extra just for our small group to have a private reception - what are your thoughts?? Sorry so many questions - I know its still early - but I love planning!!!

Sorry so long---

Congratulations!

The walkout won't be private, you are on the ground floor near the walkway by the beach- you may want to go with a Honeymoon Grand Lux Beachfront Concierge room- it's on the second fllor and will give you more privacy! Or as you said the amazing River Suites but they are fairly pricy but so worth it if you can swing it!

Your TA should be able to assist with pictures and resort/wedding info!

Congrats on your booking! Doesn't it feel so much better to have the date and resort nailed down?? I'm also getting married at Sandals Negril on April 3, 2010. We chose 4 pm because we didn't want to pay the additional money for the actual sunset time. I think I looked up what the sunset would be at that time of year and it was 6:30 pm (I'd have to check again to be sure). We booked the lowest level Butler room category, the Honeymoon Penthouse 1 Bdr. Plantation Suite with Whirlpool.

Can you tell me a little bit about your experience at Beaches? We have some guests (not with children, but elderly) that may be interested in that option.

Our logic was that they might like Beaches a little bit more but what do you think?

Hmmmm have you spoken with the "elders" yet about this. I think it would be a great option as the resort is soo mixed with people. BUT I would prob suggest Sandy Bay for pricing purposes and such as Sandy Bay is alot more cost effective if they will be spending alot of time at Sandals with the rest of your group. Plus the properties are closer together. Honestly, I can't remember but they might have to pay for day a day pass from Beaches to Sandals. I would check in with that. Another thing to think about is when you have people booking sister resorts is that are they coming for a vacation and your wedding ... or coming because it's the wedding. If they are coming for the wedding... try and keep your guests together, as I learned with one of our family guests, they stayed at Sandy Bay and felt funny when they got to our resort.. like they didn't want to be disrupting us or catching us at a wrong time. They came over everyday to the resort, but when you have to borrow other peoples rooms for changing, keeping bags, and freshening up.. I can see where they were coming from now. Now our couple that stayed at Sandals... they came for the wedding but turned it into serious vacation time. They arrived 2 days before we did and stayed at the resort for 9 days. We actually only saw them 2 times, day of and day after - party purposes really. But those are my random thoughts for the moment. Ask more if you need!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
