Getting married in Cabo in June of 08!

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I haven't been back on here for a few weeks but with a good excuse! We just put an offer in on our very first house! Apparently I'm a masichist and like to put as much stress on myself as possible! Not only are we trying to plan to move and furnish an entirely new home....I also am trying to plan the wedding of my dreams! Yikes! The house is so dang cute though! Brand new construction, two stories, 2300 square feet, 3 bed 2.5 bath, granite, wood floors, huge master room and bath! Oh....most importantly......his and her walk in closets....!!!!!

Anyways, I'm still slowly chipping away at the wedding planning. I went and tried on my first set of dresses at Demetrios and it was a disaster. I was swimming in all of them (i'm a size 2 or 4ishhuh.gif) and they were all so stiff and non-beachy. I really want something flowy and light....very slim fitting to the body and preferably low back or backless. There is just so much to choose from online it's overwhelming. How does anyone get any work done when planning a weddinghuh.gif I'm constantly online at work doing this....Ooops! Speaking of...gotta get back to work:)

Well congratulations on the new house!!! That's so exciting! Have you moved in yet? Umm, ya... his and her closets - you know you've got a keeper right there! lol.

My first dress shopping experience was a dismal experience myself! Keep at it though, the other times I've gone were a blast. I love dress shopping, I love getting dressed up like a princess lol. What I did was look online for designers I liked that made a lot of styles I was looking for, and I called stores to see if they carried a lot of that designer. But, I also tried on EVERYTHING, whether I thought I'd like it or not... and that actually worked well. I haven't chosen a dress yet, but I've changed my idea of what I want. Try not to go in knowing exactly what you want, I think that makes it difficult... and also, the dresses look so different on the hanger than they do on the person.

Well, I'm glad you checked in, and we'll let you go with this excuse just this once! wink.gif Do you have pictures of your new place??

I missed this post but I'm always on the lookout for Seattle area brides. WELCOME!!!! I'm also a Dreams Cabo bride so let me know how I can help.

As for the dress deal - I got mine at La Belle Elaine by the Space Needle. Love that place - so so helpful and nice.

I too am getting married at Dreams next year.

I went there last year with my fiance and it was amazing. We compared Dreams with the other resorts down there and we found it to be the best deal and one of the nicer places. Even if it is on the high end for your guests, remind them that there are great restaurants at the hotel and everything is included. We ate at a different restaurant every night and had fantastic meals. That alone saved us a ton. I think we went to town for a total of 1 hour because everything we had was at the hotel.

The pools were pretty nice too. There is one that is a main pool that is a little more of a scene. We hung out at one on the side of the hotel that was a little more chill. The best was getting chips and guac with margaritas by the pool.

Let me know if you need more feedback on Dreams.

Hi all!

I just posted a word document with pictures of our new house. It's so cute!! I'm not particularily sure how to put the documents on here yet....so let me know if you have any trouble opening it up. I'm so excited, we are closing this week and moving Friday and Saturday. I've had to put the wedding planning on the back burner just temporarily. Thank goodness I have well over a year! It's overwhelming going from a 900sq foot condo to 2300 square feet of brand new house!

I spent 6 hours yesterday shopping for home decorations. I completely filled up my fiance's 4-runner from the passenger side to the very tip top of the back. He thought I had lost my mind! smile29.gif I told him I just "needed" it all!

Anyways.....need to get back to work!

Finally got my picture to work on here. It wouldn't upload onto my profile, but got it into the signature I hope. I forgot to mention I got my invitations in. This place ships these message in a bottle invitations direct to you. I am making mine from scratch, but you can have them print them and then mail them for you. I got them a few days ago and they are going to be so cute. I'm adding personalized ribbon, more shells, and personal labels also. I thought I would share.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
