ROR Wedding Help

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am hoping to book our wedding at ROR for November 2009 within the next few days (I know I'm cutting it close!), I was quoted a price of $1500 taxes in for a group rate out of Toronto and $1800 taxes in out of Montreal, as this is where most of our guests will be coming from. I agree that there aren't that many details available on the ROR website, but I have been emailing the wedding coordinator with specific questions and they have pretty good about replying within a day or so. This forum has been really helpful in answering some of the questions I had, and some I definitely hadn't even thought of! Chances are if you have a question, someone has else has the same one. I took a couple of hours to read all of the ROR threads on here and it really helped me regain my sanity when I was feeling overwhelmed by all the choices :)

Hi - my fiance and I did not want the added stress of booking everything ourselves (plus his natural distrust of booking over the net doesn't help!) so we found a great travel agent. She's hopefully going to get us at ROR for Jan. 3-10th for $1729 inclusive. She also assured us that it's SUPER simple as far as all the little details go - i.e. they give you a choice between 4 bouquets, pick one...LOL No muss, no fuss...ANyway I don't feel stressed about it other than confirming the actual date. With the swine flu in Mexico everyone is re-booking elsewhere, the TA is supposing...

Hey!

What you're doing sounds exactly what I'd like to do! I'm hoping to go in February of 2010. Beach Gazebo and poolside reception. We aren't big dancers so don't really want to go to the disco or anything like that after.

Do you know if they let you play your own music at the poolside reception? Something about no music with dinner doesn't seem right to me.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
