Ok, so i dont know whats the differnce....at a reception, couples leave their guests gifts for each person...with the date and names of the bride and groom as a remembrance...is this a favor or a souvenir....either way, do u do this for DW? im confused. if so, any ideas on what would be a good one? for regualr at home receptions i have heard of tea light sets and candles? any other inexpensive ideas for a dw. somethign maybe i can put a clear sticker with my monogram on it....also, do you leave thses "gifts" per family in a household or per person?
help?
thanks ladies

I don't think there is a difference b/t a souvenir and a favor, the gift with the couple's name given at the reception is a favor but I suppose someone could also call it a souvenir because it is a keepsake from a special time and place. Someone people do them for DWs and some don't because the make out of town bags (OOT bags), and others give both a favor and an OOT bag. I think I'm now leaning toward doing handheld fans for my favors I think it is a good idea for a DW because most places people go are hot!! Here is what I am thinking of using.. Paper Fans - Colored Other ladies do raffia fans and add ribbon to the handle to incorporate their wedding colors, they are really cute too. Again it is up to your discretion as to who to give the favor to, if you get ones that are a little more expensive you may want to give one per couple or if the person is single one per person, if they are something like the fan, people don't want to share those so I would give them out per person. We are doing personalized towels in the OOT bags with this monograms

We included our wedding date and the location as a keepsake, but I didn't want to add our names.
We are doing mini tequila bottles and personalized shot glasses for the reception since we are getting married in Mexico. The shot glasses have this monogram.

Maybe you can incorporate something that is traditional of DR and you can buy it there, so you down have to travel with it. To personalize it you could add either personalized ribbon or the labels that you mentioned earlier. Good point I didn't think of the men not using them but they probably wont... well I think I'll have them available and then do something else for a real favor, maybe something to do with Miami or the cruise... hmm something new to plan

We are putting them inside of cute pouches that we found in the bridal section at Michael's. I tried looking online, but they don't have a pic on the web of the ones we purchased. Look at this link so you have an idea...
Perle Nouveau™ Pouch
These are kinda small, but the one I purchased are much longer, so it fits the shot glass and the bottle and it still has room in case you want to add a small note of something else..
I think that Target and Walmart carries similar pouches in their bridal sections.
I can take a pic of the pouches when I get home, If you'll like to see an example. Just let me know...
