Recommended Posts

I am Looking for a photographer for the Mayan Riviera. I amgetting married at the Catalona Yucatan in the Mayan and they do not supply a photographer. I have received an email back from one and i would like to have some prices to compare it to.

Anything would help

Hello, and congrats on your upcoming wedding. I wanted to let you know that vendors aren't allowed to send or post to you on their services, according to the vendor rules. However if you use the "search" button and type in your location, I'm sure their is a list out there of all the photographers and you can go from there. We set these rules up so that the brides wouldn't be bugged by all sorts of advertisement.

Good luck in your search, we have some amazing photographers on this forum and ones that were recommended by other members.

Prices really range from one photographer to a next.

You could go from $350 for a 2 hour photographer to $10,000+ for an all day photographer. It really depends on your budget.

What I would suggest is deciding what budget YOU feel comfortable spending on photography. Then find a photographer that fits your style, budget, and needs for your day.

As for lists of photographers, definitely listen to Tammy about the search feature. You'll find all kinds of them in the Cancun area. But also remember that you can often times fly down your own photographer for three days of coverage for the same amount, if not cheaper, than a lot of local Mexican photographers.

Happy searching! :)

as far as comparisons... I flew down my photographer for four nights. I paid just under $2500. However, there are many photographers who will shoot destination weddings for the cost of travel alone! So just don't be afraid to contact a bunch of them!

There are two I would definitely recommend based on my research, prices and the comments of other brides. If your looking for nice but reasonable I would suggest
Moments that Matter & Mexican Wedding Photographers. About $1000 for a mid level package with lots of photos and extras and good reviews.

Good luck and Congrats!

I also did some research on photographers, just make sure you find out if your resort will charge outside vendor fees... the resort we are going to charges an outside vendor fee + day pass (for the photographer and if they need to bring an assistant)... ! so it can still get expensive...

the catalonia doesn't have the outside vendor fee. Catalonia yucatan & catalonia riviera maya just about the same hotel. There are different check in desks, but the restaurants and pools are shared.

this is where I had my wedding. Do a search & you'll find the catalonia riveria maya thread I started. Since my wedding, there have been 2 more from BDW girls so you can see their pictures too.

Hi. Not sure if you already booked a photog but I was also on a budget and needed a photographer. I decided to go with Ivan Luckie. I have just met him 2 days ago and he seems to really love what he does. His prices are also amazing!! His website is http://www.luckiephotography.com

Before booking Ivan, I was looking into Sascha gluck, who was also pretty reasonable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
