Can't have a wedding without the grooms too!

Before Karen joined this site I would always tell her about the info I got that day from my "Destination Brides" forum. smile72.gif

Hey,

Can all you Dreams Tulum people tell me what made you pick it?? I love the pictures, but have any of you been down there? Have you heard about problems with the ride from/to airport?? What sort of rates are they giving your guests (I've been waiting for a reply from their sales dept) - have you found it more/ less/ same as other AIs in the area?

How much flexibility is there in their packages? For example, can you choose some entrees from the silver menu and some from the gold?

Do they have more than one wedding per day?

Sorry, a lot of questions I know, but we don't think we'll have time to get down there before reserving, and it makes me nervous not to have all the answers!

Thanks!! Leah

Hi Leah,

From our experience, their sales dept is pretty slow at responding to group rate requests (more than a week.) We didn't find the savings to be significant enough to go through all the trouble of doing a room block (we don't really know how many people are coming and for how long they'll want to stay.) For the ride down to the resort, we have been advising our guests to book a private transport - Dreams has the option of adding a private transport or one can be done with another company. Otherwise, people may end up in a van with other folks going down to other resorts which lenghthens the commute time considerably. And yes, you can choose some entrees from the silver and others from the gold. We actually asked Sandra (the WC there) that very same question. As for your first question, we picked Dreams Tulum because we wanted a smaller AI resort, didn't want to have to wear any bracelets, had stayed at another Dreams and enjoyed it, and liked the location. Also they allow children and don't have a 3 night minimum stay requirement.

Hey Leah - V pretty much answered all your questions. To answer your last question - They only have 1 wedding per day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
