Tsashamia's wedding planning....a work in progress

Recommended Posts

Everyone before me has made this look so easy, so Iâ€ll try to give some good ideas and information here. I can tell you that I all of the sudden canâ€t sleep lately. Iâ€m not sure if itâ€s stress or excitement but this once 9 hour a night sleeper is now bright eyed at 3am for the last week =]

Okay, here goes…

Shane and I met at an Ironman race in April of 06 in Arizona. He was living in Boulder, CO and I was living in Scottsdale, AZ. I moved 4 months into our relationship and he still jokes that some crazy woman moved in with him and wonâ€t leave him alone =] We were engaged in May and Shane is quite possibly the least romantic man so I wonâ€t go into details about the asking and accepting but will tell you that I was so excited to marry him it didnâ€t matter.

An aside to this whole planning journal and something that actually helped me not freak out as much with all the details is that I trained for and raced 3 triathlons, one marathon and one Ironman this year.

Okay, enough of all that, on to the pictures. I probably got most if not all of my ideas from this forum, so thank you to Tammy for creating this site and everyone who has come before me =] Also, my camera didnâ€t take very good pictures (could be the photographer too!) Iâ€m hoping in my wedding review youâ€ll be able to see it all come together.

Ceremony we took from several places and tweaked to fit what we wanted:

I'm posting because it took seeing a few others before I could even start on my own. I will confess the beginning and end are from one of the women in this forum from Canada and I just fell in love with it...hope she doesn't mind =]

MINISTER:

On behalf of Shane and Tsasha, I welcome you and thank you all for gathering here on this beautiful day to witness their marriage ceremony. The fact that you all have travelled such a great distance to be here today is a testament to the amazing amount of love and support they have.

All of you have given them much happiness, love, warmth, and guidance through the various stages of their lives. They would like to sincerely thank you all for being here to celebrate their big day. A special and respectful acknowledgement must also be made to those friends and family members who were unable to attend, or have passed on, but whose spirit remains alive and strong in all our hearts.

I have also been asked by Shane and Tsasha to thank their parents for the wonderful lives they have given them, for the hard work and guidance they have provided, for their everlasting love, support, and encouragement. It is from them that they have learned the true meaning of love, friendship and family.

Shane and Tsasha have decided to say a few words to each other:

SHANE

I promise to encourage your compassion,

Because that is what makes you unique and wonderful.

I promise to nurture your dreams,

Because through them your soul shines.

I promise to help shoulder our challenges,

For there is nothing we cannot face if we stand together.

I promise to be your partner in all things,

Not possessing you, but working with you as a part of the whole.

Lastly, I promise to you love and trust,

For one lifetime with you could never be enough.

This is my sacred vow to you, my equal in all things.

TSASHA

I promise to encourage your individuality,

Because that is what makes you unique and wonderful.

I promise to nurture your dreams,

Because through them your soul shines.

I promise to help shoulder our challenges,

Because through them we'll emerge stronger.

I promise to be your partner in all things,

Not possessing you, but working with you as a part of the whole.

I promise to share with you the joys of life,

Because with you they will be that much sweeter.

Lastly, I promise to you love and trust,

For one lifetime with you could never be enough.

This is my sacred vow to you, my equal in all things.

MINISTER TO SHANE:

Shane, will you have this woman to be your wife, to live together in the sacred estate of marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, and be faithful to her, as long as you both shall live?

SHANE:

I Will.

MINISTER TO TSASHA:

TSASHA, will you have this man to be your husband, to live together in the sacred estate of marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, and be faithful to him, as long as you both shall live?

TSASHA

I Will.

MINISTER ASKS SHANE TO TAKE TSASHA's right hand in his own and REPEATS AFTER MINISTER:

I, SHANE, take you, TSASHA, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.

TSASHA REPEATS AFTER MINISTER:

I, TSASHA, take you, SHANE, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.

With confidence and deep affection, we send you forth on life's journey together. May love and peace be with you always; a peace which the world can neither give nor take away, a love which the world cannot destroy. May you have courage and wisdom in your future years together, and may the happiness you share today be with you always.

With friends and family, along with the sun, the moon, and the sea, I have the pleasure of announcing you as husband and wife.

Shane, you may kiss your bride.

I'm jumping all over the place, sorry!

Placecards - I printed these myself and then glued seashells from Michaels in the corner.

a>

Table numbers - got the card inserts from a local florist and will put these sticking out of the centerpieces. Our sweethearts table will have the Novio which loosely means "sweatheart" in Spanish.

a>

Luggage tag and pre-wedding brochure (I have the templates for all of these, PM if you want them...but I got them from the DIY forum =})

a>

Iron-on monogram on OOT bags (cheaptotes.com)

a>

Okay I'll try to post the rest before we leave tomorrow morning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
