Playa Fiesta Weddings

Sarah, the food is all great. I think we had the mini sliders, some kind of quesadilla and pot sticker? I can't even remember but the food at PF is fantastic! Guest still talk about it. Your WC can give you hints as to what's popular... and you could prob try a few during your wrap session. Good luck!

Hi Ladies,

I featured a destination wedding at Playa Fiesta today and just had to share the images of some of the details. I thought they were great inspiration. I love this venue and I have heard nothing but amazing things about the food and what a beautiful place for a ceremony. The maracas were done by Mishka designs, they do such an incredible job. I hope it brings you some inspiration for your big days at Playa Fiesta.

Hi everyone! I know that I haven't been on in forever, so first of all congrats to all the new PF brides! To everyone who is getting married there soon, you will have a great time! And to anyone who is still in the decision process: I have zero regrets about choosing PF. Our wedding anniversary is in two days, and still we talk about the food and still we feel that we made the best decision ever.

I will be posting on our wedding blog more pictures about each day of our wedding long weekend at PF. I thought I'd share it with you ladies - more photos never hurt! My apologies though, we did have karaoke - we were the last couple to get it. It was a blast!

There will be a post on the 14, 15, 16, 17 & 18 using images that hadn't been posted before on the blog -- http://magalieandtravis.wordpress.com/

Cheers!

We are doing a 4 night stay in November for our wedding.  We are doing D & E package #1, and am wondering which nights past brides suggest having the dinners on?  I know we will definitely have one on Thurs (rehearsal dinner) and Fri. (wedding dinner).  But I am wondering if anyone did a dinner on their first night, as a welcome dinner.  I was wondering if that was difficult to coordinate with guests arriving at different times.  I don't want anyone to miss the dinner.  So I am trying to decide between doing one on the first night or the last night.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

Hi Ladies - I know Sara and Nathen that got married a year ago at PF.  Andy and I are getting married there 11/4/11 and are super excited.  So far we've picked our dinners (including reception), cermeony officiant and photographer as well as some other miscellaneous items.  We sent our STD's in January with our website which hardly anyone looked at.  We talked to a lot of people who said they were coming but until I sent out a detailed email we didn't get many people booked.  We have 17 out of our 20 rooms booked now so I feel good about meeting the minimum since we did partial takeover.  I ordered my dress last weekend so we are off to a great start.

My question was on flowers and what you could recommend (or was available) in November.  I've had preliminary emails with Maripepa but we haven't decided on anything.  I like the calla lillies but she said they might not be available?  I had seen them in some of the photos on the PF website so just wasn't sure if they were not in season in November. Thoughts?

Hi Susan-

My fiancé, Steve, and I are getting married at PF on 11/11/11.  We are super excited too.  We are probably at the same point planning wise as you.  I emailed Maripepa pictures of bouquets and center pieces that I liked.  She told me what flowers were available/less expensive and would achieve the same look as my pictures.  I am not super picky about the flowers so I trust that they will be beautiful.  Plus she has sent me several pictures of similar work that she has done to what I want.  I think sending the pictures really helped.  Good luck!

Can you tell me a little about the email that you sent out?  We have only a few rooms booked.  We sent out Save the Dates in November.  A few people have RSVP'd on our website, but I would feel more comfortable if more started to book their rooms.  Any suggestions or info. on what you included in the email would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Angie

Hi there!

Have fallen in looove with PF but their website shows absolutely ZERO dates available... Are they booked until forever, or what? Does anyone know if maybe you just have to e-mail them to find out about availability? I would be crushed to find out that there are no openings until 2013...

Hi Ladies,

It's been a while since I've been on here.  :)

Allyzouz-

You have to contact them to get availability for weddings. They basically block out the whole year for people want to just stay at PF for a vacation. Obviously they want to leave it open if someone wants to do a full takeover and they have only one room booked for outside guests.  Just email them and they will get back to you quickly. Good luck! PF is amazing!

Lunnsu-

I got married 11/06/09 and I had cala lillies for my centerpieces. They were my second choice because the mini cala lillies I originally wanted were way out of my budget. But they ended up being absolutely beautiful and I got tons of compliments.  If you look at my slideshow (Jennie & Reggie) you can see them.

Abruno -

We did a welcome dinner the second night because most people were there by then (we did 5 nights total) and then the night before did our rehearsal dinner. We just had a schedule that each person got in their welcome bags to let them know when to be where. If people chose to not participate that was ok too. We wanted to leave some free time so people could do their own thing.  However, you've probably figured it out by now.  :)

Hello, hoping to revive this thread! Getting married at Playa Fiesta at the beginning of next year and wondering if anyone here has gotten married there fairly recently. Would love some help on picking dishes for the wedding reception, and general feedback on how your experience was! Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
