Playa Fiesta Weddings

Recommended Posts

I also stayed at the RIU Pacifico for my honeymoon. I wanted to get away from town and just relax for a few days. We stayed for three nights, and I have to say that based upon our experience, I will never go back there or recommend it. Occupancy was low, so the RIU chain combined all three hotels into one! They moved every person from the Jalisco and Vallarta to the RIU. I've never stayed at an adults-only resort because I don't mind kids, but staying at the RIU made me wish I had booked an adults-only honeymoon. It seemed like there were millions of kids in the pool and millions of people in general. We couldn't get a dinner res., not even for one night, and it didn't matter that we were on our honeymoon. Blah, it was a mess! I think it can be a very nice hotel when they aren't combining all three hotels into one, but I won't be taking my chances again! If I could redo it, I'd stay at Casa Velas (budget willing) or one of the Dreams resorts for the same price as the RIU.

The good news is that we were still on our Playa Fiesta high, and we made the best of it! The rooms and the beach are lovely (thought I should add a couple of positives). We also went to Sayulita for a day. :)

Hi all PV brides

Thanks for all the posts, feedback, updates etc. Our wedding date is April 16, 2010 if someone wants to add that to the list.

I have to strongly reccomend going on your honeymonn up to Sayulita, its about 45 mins North of puerto vallarta. its the cutest little fisherman/surfer village. My best friend got married there 2 years ago, my fiance and i fell in love with the town. It was also the 1st vacation we went on together. We are going back there for a week after our wedding and i cant wait. the town has so much charm, fun vibe, amazing food, shopping, nice beaches etc. and you cant beat the prices there. check out the site Information for Sayulita Nayarit Mexico including vacation rentals, real estate, maps and restaurants for the village of Sayulita

So i have a few other questions for anyone to answer...has anyone used the videographer they offer? i've talked to 2 past brides that lindsey put me in touch with but i'd love to get more feedback. Is anyone doing a buffet dinner and making menus for it?

Crystal, that dress is amazing!!! You will look incredible!

Wieseelliott, congrats and welcome!

I am still in STD madness, I won't go into details but it has entailed going to Kinkos 5 times, having 8 conversations with the staff, sending the files over 3 times and resulted in a 30% discount (and lots of gray hair?). I'm pretty annoyed about the whole thing because I thought asking professionals to print & cut would make my life easier, but it has done the opposite and is costing a ridiculous amount of money. In the end they couldn't even cut anything - I should have done it myself! It should be done "soon" though, I'll post pictures!

Crystal- your dress is beautiful on you. I too have been having 2nd thoughts of my dress. I've had to have friends who have seen it talk me off the ledge. so its totally normal the way your are feeling. I havent even taken mine in to get altered yet...have to do that right after christmas & NY...just in time to eat bad for the holidays then hope the dress fits lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
