Shreeti & Jon (shreets) - specific date undecided

Cheers!
Nice idea Magalie! Kate - my name is Shreeti (so close to shreets - LOL!) it's pronounced like sweetie - except with Shree! :)

Okay, so i have more questions! What percentage do you put down as a deposit? I was talking to my parents, and they were worried about it being so far out and something happening inbetween then. They asked what happens if the owners decide to sell - how much money would we be out, etc. etc. Did anyone else have these thoughts? Oh, and how did you get from the airport to the Playa Fiesta? How much did it cost?

As always - thank you so much for input! :)

Shreeti, I like your name! Very unique :)

We put down $5K. For a credit card deposit though they charge 5.5% on top of that, so a wire transfer should work out to be cheaper. If you're worried about things that might happen in the meantime, you should look into wedding insurance. It's usually quite affordable and in the US they have companies that cover destination weddings (here in Canada we're SOL). This way, no need to worry!

We're doing cabs to the resort, since everyone will be arriving at different times. I think the cost is around $25 US from the airport to the hotel.

We are pretty much done everything...Just waiting on finalization of guests and trying to fill rooms....sigh. We have also offered to pay half of room for some guests and they say they can't take that offer, however, it's like people still don't realize we will end up paying for their whole room if they cancel.
Anyways...just trying to decide on some ice breaker games for when everyone arrives. If anyone has any ideas...we will take them!!
Hey... Mel had the tablerunners actually. Mel: could you post them here again? I rented table linens. 90 inch rounds I believe. They were aqua blue. Pics in my slideshow siggy.
When are you getting married? And what is YOUR real name?

Shreeti! Ok, well it was closer than I thought:) But feel much better knowing that for sure!

If all else fails for you, my sis was my MOH and I had no other bridesmaids. My best friends were all there, and there was no way to narrow it down. They all had a blast, and I liked that they didn't have to spend any extra money to be in the wedding party.

I'm sure its easy to get carried away!
:)
You may not get a list of flower prices. I think they fluctuate based on supply and season.

Shots are a great way to break the ice! Just kidding (well, not really)! We served shots at our first dinner and we brought personalized shot glasses as favors for the welcome dinner. shots.gif

Flat deposit, check with Adam. Yes, my parents had all of the same worries until they met Lindsay. You are not alone, but you really don't need to be stressing over those things. Promise!!!

The tables are 59 inch rounds. I checked my old emails. My mom made table runners and they turned out great! I'll put them up in my next post, which will be a preview of my album. I think you can see the runners in those shots. If not, I'll post more.

I love the wedding date idea. Obviously, mine has passed, but we're actually going back for Christmas!

Hello PF Ladies!

Sorry for going MIA on you when I know I promised my review weeks ago. I've been chained to my desk at work and finally have my life back this week. The good news is that my slideshow is ready to enjoy along with the review.

I wanted to do a very detailed review because I know you wants all the juicy tidbits. :) I did leave out some stuff, because as Melissa has said before, there are some amazing little extras PF does that really should be a surprise. It's so much better that way!

Here's a link to the thread with my review.

Here's a link to my slideshow.

Also, here's my two cents on everything that you've been discussing lately:

_________________

Magalie – I love your dress. You look gorgeous!

Sam (DB2B) – I had the same realization after we left PF that we had already met…on BDW. Congrats on your beautiful wedding. I love all the purple and I hope your crowd had as much fun as we did. It was sad to leave…but exciting to know someone else was just about to have an amazing wedding as well. 

Christa – The dance floor is so worth it. Itâ€s unique and looks great in pics. Also itâ€s right by the bar so you canâ€t beat that. Itâ€s where everyone hangs out anyways. 

Jdrewett – Congrats on signing your contract! Youâ€re going to love PF. I promise! And the wedding coordination fee is totally worth it. Lindsay and Blaire do so much work that youâ€ll not even know about until the wedding is over. And if you have a special request, they bend over backwards. We had a couple people allergic to avocado (can you imagine?) and Lindsay made all the necessary substitutions. Not to mention my 93 year old Gâ€ma fell the day of the wedding. Lindsay made sure she had everything she needed to be comfortable.

Monty Crysto – We did 3 per row and it was perfect. However, if youâ€re having a smaller group I think 2 is good. It pushes the everyone back more so it looks like more people in pictures.

SheriB – I too had it narrowed down to LC and PF. But once I saw PF on our site visit, it was no contest. And Iâ€m so glad I went with my gut feeling on that. 

Shreets – I didnâ€t see pots and pans but there was flatware in the rooms. We used it to eat our leftover wedding cake at 2AM the next day.

Jennie,

First my condolences to you on the season the 49ers are having! wink.gif

Second, love your pictures!! The pic of you two walking on the wall as the sun is setting is just stunning. Gorgeous!!!

Your review is wonderful, and I'm sure it will be really helpful to the other girls here. The zipline fiasco is so bizarre. Sorry you had to deal with that. We had groups zipline on two different days, and each group LOVED the tour.

Oh, I also love, love your veil- so pretty.

Congratulations, again!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
