Hi ladies...

I travel every freaking week for work so if I take forever sorry. Next week I am pretty much out too in San Diego at mtgs. Email if you have questions, luckily I have a blackberry so I won't be completely out of touch.

My chairs were brown and ivory. I know they have white cushions so they prob have black but they are dark wood anyway so don't worry too much.

Mishka gave me a tip to not be too "matchy matchy" and this helped.

That's funny about scaling back for luggage. It does get to be a lot. Luckily, NWA gives 2 free bags for int'l flights. Not sure if all airlines do but that was so nice and unexpected. Kind of funny, we had gotten new luggage that was like the papa, mama, baby bear luggage that all linked together and it was like a luggage train. It worked awesome at the airport but we looked silly! And it was a challenge to get DH, me and everything in a cab! Worth it though:-)

The flowers are pretty high, especially for native roses. I think mine were around $200. My tall ones in vase had 150 roses in it though! So that made me feel better. And I heart them so much!! Def. coouldn't have afforded it at a traditional wedding with 30 tables!

Kate, I loved your tall rose bouquets, thay were gorgeous! Did you bring in your own vases? I wanted to do something like that but when I saw the cost of the small standard rose centerpieces they have on the webpage I figured that size would cost a fortune!

The next decision I need to make is music for the ceremony and I am torn. Has anyone had or plan on having the guitar players?

Kate- make sure you bring a coat to San Diego because we have had rain and a cold streak the last few days. It has been in the low 60's which is pretty cold for us for this time of the year. The weather has been all over the place. Last week was in the high 70s.

Ok, Bunsie, you have me cracking up. I lived in SD for 9 years, so I totally understand that the low 60's feels cold. But I live in Atlanta now, and it was 9 degrees for several mornings this week, and Kate is from MN, where it get even colder. smile125.gifEnjoy the SD weather! I miss it so much!

Hey, Lindsay actually found the vases in her storage which was awesome bc the kind the florist had didn't work at all. I know flower costs went up a bit- so just ask lindsay how much it would be for "Kate's tall rose centerpieces."

Oh, and I left the lanterns for Lindsay to use:-) There are only 4 though.

Crack me up about the weather! Anything is better than here! Plus we are in meetings pretty much all day, and the rooms are always freezing so I always dress in layers!

HaHa, I know we are spoiled in San Diego weather wise. I lived in New York on the snow belt for four years, I know 60 is nothing but it is cold if your expecting sunshine not rain and have no coat or long sleeves.

Thanks for the info about the vases Kate.

We loved it there and cant wait for our friends and family to see it!
Bunsie - same with us! We had already almost decided on another location, but being at Playa Fiesta in person definitely exceeded all our expectations. I was a little worried about the expense, because I always thought I was a low key kind of bride, but I keep telling myself it is a tradeoff- a little more cash for less stress! Besides, all of our guests are going to be blown away- makes it all totally worth it!

Jenniebey - I am continually shocked how expensive things are once you attach the word "wedding," but nothing prepared me for flowers. Let's just say the inspiration pics I sent Lindsay came back with a quote of about twice Kate's price for the bridal bouquet, and about the same for the bridesmaids... I'm not sure what we'll do - I loved the picture, but I don't think I can justify spending that much on flowers!? Is everyone just budgeting a huge chunk for flowers? I don't know what wedding flowers go for normally, but it seems like the flowers and cake at PF are definitely spendy - am I crazy?

I didn't budget very much for flowers, so I guess I will have to take another look. We got a deal on our airfare so I can put the extra towards flowers.

It would help to know how many people they let you sit at a table. Any idea ladies as to how many tables you'll be having? I am estimating 40 people...and 6 at a table...so 7-8 tables is what I'm planning on.

The cake also seems pretty pricey. $7 a slice I think. But I think it's worth it. It would be weird not to have a cake.

The tables seat 8, I believe. They are 59 inch rounds. I think the cake price is about average, maybe a bit more. I just like the fact that I don't have to find my own vendors. I love the full-service that PF offers. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
