Welcome bags for guests

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am wanting to put together small oot bags to welcome the guests to Jamaica, we are all travelling together and I am not sure the right time to give them these bags, it would be nice to have them ready for when we get down there but since we are all travelling and arriving together and late at night do you think giving the bags out at the at the welcome dinner the next night is ok? Also I do not want them to add a ton of stuff to these small bags, what kinds of items are you putting in your oot bags?

We were thinking, purell, suntan lotion, maps of resort, excursion info, etc etc. Any ideas?

Thanks for your input

Kari

We're keeping our bags very simple and we're giving them out the day after we arrive too since we are in the same situation as you. We just have purell, sunscreen, kleenex, scented tea lights (2), and a pair of our personalized flip flops as our favor. That's all we're doing cause I felt like if we put too much in them, a lot of it would go to waste cause they wouldn't necessarily use them. I will make sure I bring first aid stuff and peptobismal, etc. and let everyone know that if they need anything they can come find us. I figure that's more effective than giving everyone stuff that they may not need!

Good luck!, oh yeah and somewhere on here there's a master list of OOT bag contents...

I love the idea of OOT bags. Were doing that for our guests! We will be giving them to our guests during the welcome dinner the day after we arrive. Things that we want to include is sunscreen, bug replelant with DEET, small first aid kit and well as the personalized tanks that I've made for everyone! Our colors are fusia pink for the girls and I've found tank tops the same color and I included their title on it and for the groomsmen I've got some black muscle shirts for them with their title on it as well. We also used this idea at our engagement party! This way the guests that were there knew who the wedding party was. For those who aren't in the wedding party we will include a underwater disposible camera!

We gave out our bags the day we got there. We were the last people to arrive so our Calgary and Vancouver guests had been there a day already. We got there at 3pm so we just headed to the beach and passed out the bags. They had a travel mug (highly recommend those!) small lotion, lip balm with SPF, personalized luggage tags, deck of cards (also highly recommend) small bit of hard candy, and a thank you not for making the trip. My mom made a small drawstring bag for everyroom. We gave one bag per room and filled it for the number of people per room. People LOVED the bags! Good luck with your bags. We got our travel mugs from ebay for a very very good price.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
