Halifax/ Toronto Question (Location related)...

Hi Everyone!

Currently I am attempting to finalize a location for our wedding. Our catch is that approx. half our guests will fly from Toronto and the other half from Halifax and we would like to go with and area that is somewhat affordable for both.

I have my sights set on Mexico but can be swayed, except not Cuba as we have already had family/ friends married there and would like a different location.

Now I know that different destinations have carriers that fly more regularly out of Halifax but not being from there myself I don't really know. I would like to at least tell my guests a rough idea of destination and costs in the next month or so as we were thinking a 2010 wedding (between Jan- April) and the flights/ packages are not out yet.

Any advicehuh.gif?

TIA!

My advice talk to a TA. Most prices to Mexico aren't too bad if they are the Atlantic side for those of us from Halifax (generally around $1200-$1600). Your Toronto guests will probably get it for about $200-$300 cheaper than the Halifax ones. I am am not oo familiar with Mexico since we are heading the the DR, but at a local travel agency close to where I work, I generally see deals posted for places like Mayan Riviera, Cancun, Ixtapa, Tulum. I think your best best would be to talk to a TA to get an idea of both locations and prices.

Welcome to the forum! I'm a little biased but I really do believe that there are some gorgeous resorts in Mexico and can't compare to Cuba. A lot of fellow brides are paying around 1200-1500 from Toronto. One thing that some brides forget is the legal paperwork involved when choosing a wedding location.

Thankfully, Dreams Tulum doesn't require this and all you need is your passport and to be in Mexico 4 days before your wedding date.

Something to definitely consider when selecting your resort.

Good luck and happy planning!

Congrats Tia and welcome to the forum! Like others have mentioned already, you could always give a TA a quick call and get estimated costs to your dream location. Mexico is usually one of the more affordable options and there are so many beautiful locations to choose from. You'll find lots of great ideas, sources and vendors on this forum that will help with your DW planning. Best of luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
