We've just booked the Ocean Turquesa! Let me know if that is what you & your Fi decide and I can send you information as I recieve it. Our wedding is March 2010

This is exciting to see all the May 2010 brides. Kurt and I are getting married on May 5, 2010 at the Grand Palladium Jamaica. We are a day away from getting our invites sent out.. even though we already have people booked. It makes it so much more real and relaxed when you pick a resort. It was very hard for us.. as far as country.. not resort! We are very big Grand Palladium fans. My fav is Mexico but we wanted something smaller so we are off to Jamaica!!!

Again Congrats to all of you!

Im very excited to be apart of this site, its so insightful.

Happy Planning!!

Hello 2010 Brides! I am planning a wedding for August 2010 in Riviera Maya. I am leaving this Thursday to go down there and tour some resorts! I am very lucky to have parents that are travel agents to help me out with all of these big decisions/planning! We are leaning towards Dreams Puerto Aventura...but I guess we'll see when we go down there. I really don't have anything else planned except for the colors-tiffany blue with green/yellow accents. I am hoping this trip to Mexico will give us the resort we want and finalize a date to send out save the dates. I was thinking of just sending invitations instead of save the dates...thoughts?

Oh, I'm so glad this thread was started...happy planning! :)

Hi 2010 Brides!

I am planning for a June 2010 Wedding and have 2 resorts I am flipping back and forth between....Dreams Riviera Cancun and Grand Velas Riviera Maya. Does anyone have any pictures or reviews from Grand Velas I know its been open for a little while. I am looking for a resort that has great food and ability to personailze your wedding ie. floral options etc.

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas :)

Hey randp8910,

I highly suggest sending out STDs, especially if you need a passport to get there. I also highly recommend having a wedding website and putting the link on your STDs. This gives people a chance to start planning in advance, plus it gets them excited for the wedding. Not many people have a chance to do a DW, and most are excited for it. The STDs is a great way to get them in the mood for a Caribbean fiesta and it gets you a little more organized.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
