Hello everyone! Congratulations to you all! I am having a lot of the same issues...I think I have a few resorts narrowed down, but I am waiting on the TA to get back to me with pricing for us and our guests. I am looking at a wedding date in February 2010 in Punta Cana or Cabo San Lucas. Just waiting from the TA to see what our best options will be! I hate this waiting period, I just want to book the date and resort!!

Any other Punta Cana brides out there for February 2010?

I don't have a date officially set, but I am hoping for Saturday the 6th or Friday the 5th. I put in my request to our new TA on Monday but haven't heard anything yet. I haven't heard of many March 2010 brides at all, so it's exciting to find someone whose at the same resort.

smile03.gif 11 months and 3 days for us!.. Its so exciting, my friends and family are already waaaay bored of my wedding nonsense.... We'll have to rely on chatting to each other before we drive everyone else away! LOL

Out of curiosity do you all have your dresses sorted I've fallen into the "just need to lose those last few pounds" mode but now the clocks a ticking, im comfort eating like a woman possessed and I've not even tried on any dresses!!eek.gif

Can someone clarify something for me? Some resorts say you need to be in Mexico FOUR business days before getting married and some say THREE. Why? I am avoiding all the resorts that say four, because that basically means we have to get married on the Friday and everyone leaves the next day. How anti-climatic?

Does anyone know why some resorts allow three and others four?

OMG, everyone is definitely already sick of all my wedding talk, lol! I'm actually going dress shopping tomorrow! I'm brining my MOH with me too, so hopefully I can find bridal party dresses too! I keep thinking that I have all of this time to get things done, but I know the time will fly by...it's already LESS THAN YEAR AWAY!!!

I have definitely seen this vary from resort to resort. At first I thought it was based on the area in Mexico you're in...but it actually looks like the resort can set their own "number of days" rule. I think the resort I'm getting married at is three days. We're planning to get married on a Friday and are hoping everyone stays until Sunday, so that they don't have to leave right away after the wedding.

We chose a Friday wedding. We are arriving at the Resort on Tuesday because the WC said we needed to be there by 11 am on Wednesday to have it count as 3 days prior. Flying from Chicago in January, you do not risk delays so we thought oh well we have to extend our trip 1 more day no biggie :). Our guests are arriving on Wednesday and they're going to stay until either Saturday or Sunday, budget permitting. I think this will work out great. We're not too concerned about the immediate alone time. The FI and I already live together, so it's not like we're insisting on immediate alone time. wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
